James 4:1 totally sums up the state of humanity. It says, “why do you fight and argue with each other? Isn’t it because of selfishness?” (That’s from the Bible, a modern translation.)
So what if selfishness could be overcome? And each one instead puts the other first. The key of course is truly doing it. Lol. Can it be done? It’s a lot easier with a certain seed in us - one totally misunderstood. It starts out tiny, but if watered and fertilized it will grow into the biggest and most beautiful tree (or flower) in the garden of our soul. All those ideals and truly wonderful aspirations we have, actually can be reached, and so much easier. Is it a magic pill?
Yes it is! But there may be a few weeds, during the process, that need to be pulled up.
But think about it, how could there be a universe of peace, justice and joy, if the energy is flowing backward? Toward self. Isn’t it eventually a vacuum? Just suppose if life isn’t an accident (and anomaly) after all.
What’s the first thing that has to be done in order for all that exist to be happy, free and locked into all energy flowing outward as genuine love and affection? No speck of selfishness or imperfection anywhere.
Don’t think it can be done? Maybe that’s why this learning process is so full of hard knocks. You really think we’d be convinced any other way?
The Son of God is called "First" - Greek word "Proto" - He is "the seed" by which one is "born again".
