01/01 ~ From New Testament Letters
🕊️ (In the Order Believed Written)
{It sounds like a mostly gentile church contributing to a mostly Jewish (Hebrew) church during a severe drought.. Or after? A little bit of low key politics here? ..You know how the adversary constantly beats the division drum.. So it’s bound to come up? And had to be guarded against?}
15 - As it’s written - Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little, had no lack! - 16 And thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same spirit of concern I have had for you. 17 For he not only accepted our appeal, but being himself very earnest he’s coming to you of his own accord. 18 With him we are sending the brother who is famous among the churches for his preaching of the message. (Luke?) 19 And not only that, but he has been appointed by the churches to travel with us as we carry out this act of grace, being ministered for the glory of the Lord and to show our good will. 20 We take this course so no one need be concerned about this generous gift that is being sent. 21 For we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of man. 22 And with them we are sending our brother who has been tested often, and found to be steadfast, and also motivated in many ways. And who is now more earnest than ever because of his confidence in you. 23 Titus as you know, is my partner and fellow worker in this service and work. And as for our brothers, they are messengers of the churches, which (the followers) are the glory of Christ! 24 Also, the proof of your love, and of our boasting about you, will be made plain to all.
