11/01 - 1 Cor 4 14-21 Luke 21 34-36

8TH ‘DAY’ CU Journal, New Testament In A Year, Verses paraphrased due to ©‘s [ref] {thots}

           ༺☀️༻ 1 Corinthians 4:14-21

14 -  I don’t write these things to make you ashamed, but to correct you as my beloved children. 15 For though you have countless guides in Christ, you don’t have many fathers. For I (Paul) through the gospel became your father in Christ Jesus.

     16 I urge you, then, to be imitators of me. 17 That’s why I sent you Timothy, my beloved and faithful disciple in the Lord, to remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach them everywhere, in every church. 18 Some are acting arrogantly and as though I’m never coming back. 19 But I’ll see you soon, if the Lord wills, and then will find out, not so much this boastful talk of theirs, but the spirit and power. 20 For the kingdom of God isn’t all talk, but power. 21 What do you think? Should I come to you in a spirit of harsh disappointment, or in a spirit of brotherly love?

            ༺☾𖀓༻ LUKE 21:34-36

[Jesus continues.] 34 - “So watch yourselves, that your hearts not be weighed down with dissipation, with drunkenness, or with the cares of this life, and - that day - come upon you suddenly like a snare. 35 For it will come upon all who dwell upon the face of the earth. 36 So stay awake in all seasons - praying that you may have strength [katischuΓ³ - prevail against, overpower, get the upper hand] in order to escape [ekpheugΓ³ - to flee away, flee out, escape] all these things that are going to come about, and to stand ready before the Son of Man.”

Jesus “will draw all” Jn.12:32.
