☀️ A.M. James 1:1-8
(Likely the first letter we have.) 1 - From James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ (Likely this James is Jesus’ natural brother who became a serious disciple and a leading apostle in Jerusalem after Jesus’ 1-death, 2-burial and 3-resurrection [1-Passover, 2-Unleavened Bread, 3-Firstfruits - the ancient Spring holy days fulfilled. Pentecost - ‘church’ age. Then Fall holy days to be fulfilled, Lev.23 with Rev.20-told like describing only the crests of waves. But in it, is the - entire - 2nd Advent.]
To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion: Greetings!
2 Count it all joy, my brothers and sisters when trials of various kinds come upon you! 3 For you know the testing of your faith produces steadfastness and stability. {Tested like steel in the forge of life. Life as we presently know it, the crucible, laver, sieve, which continues until one of two - written about - vivifications, but the second is not usually understood? The first, at the Lord’s return, the second at the “behold I make all new” - greek word “pas” - all, but translated, all things, Rev.21:1-5.}
4 So let stability and steadfastness have its way, and full effect! {Let our roots go further down into the faith and the way.} So that you may be made perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. {Even Jesus was tempered. OnLy straight out from God one, so close to the Father, both administer God’s Spirit/Presence ..Forever First/Proto.. Even He was tempered.} {Pick up our cross.. be a whoLe sacrifice unto him. Aka submission. “He is the potter, we the clay.” With the money Judas threw back “they bought the potter’s field”. A field where broken clay pieces were tossed. I like the metaphor of that! And it reminds me how death is a sleep. There’s a lot of broken clay in God’s yet to be tended garden. We are invited to serve, called reigning during long 2nd advent? Mt.13:30, in context, is Mt.25:1-13 (and Rev.16:14-15-16). This is important to know?}
5 If any of us lacks wisdom, let us ask God. For he gives generously to all - and without reproach - and it’ll be given to them. 6 But let us ask in faith, without doubting, for to doubt is to be like a wave of the sea, tossed about by various winds. 7 And then, that one can’t suppose they’ll receive! {Faith is like a ground wire?} 8 They’re being double-minded and unstable in their ways. {Remember the father of an afflicted son? Who cried “help Lord my unbelief!”}
🌙 P.M. MARK 10:1-9
1 - Jesus left Capernaum and went to the region of Judea and then out beyond the Jordan, where crowds were again gathering to him. And as was his custom, he taught them.
2 Pharisees showed up, and tried to test him. They asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” 3 He answered, “What did Moses say?”
4 They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and send his wife away.” (Rather than sending her away without divorce!)
5 And Jesus said, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment/instruction/law. 6 But at the beginning and forming of creation, ‘God made them male and female. 7 And therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two are one.’ So they’re no longer two but one. 9 What therefore God has joined together, man shouldn’t separate.” {Exception is of course, abuse! And also adultery, Mt.19:9, we’re all born sinners/missing the mark/imperfect. All in the same boat. Jesus didn’t scold the woman of Samaria he met at the well, who had had five husbands. Only once born anew can we hope to genuinely do better in this life, which is God’s goodness, not ours. Imperfect is an abyss of potential, and ultimately, how low can we go? Given enough time aNd circumstance.. I believe way low. That’s part of the contrast and its unavoidable, all important lesson? Thankfully GOD’s individual blueprint, of each one of us, is in us as well.}
