09-09 - James 3 3-6 Luke 10 21-28

Verses paraphrased due to ©‘s [ref] {thots}

(An 8TH ‘DAY’ CU Studies Journal)

            ☀️ A.M. James 3:3-6

3 - It’s like how we put a bit in the mouth of a horse, in order to direct where the horse goes. 4 And look at ships! They’re large vessels and they’re blown about by strong, gusting winds, yet their steering is done by a very small rudder.

     5 So also is the human tongue! It’s such a small part of the body. Yet it boasts great things! Like a tiny flame, it can set a great forest on fire! 6 Indeed the tongue is a fire! It can create a world of trouble. [“Anyone who doesn’t err in what they say is mature and full grown..” Ja.3:2.]

     And so the tongue can misdirect the entire body, setting on fire the course of one’s life and days. It’s a fire which spark is from hell.

     {I think this last has at least two meanings? A tongue that causes trouble, division.. misleading rhetoric.. mobs.. Which leaders did against Jesus and later against Paul and friends, and the Lord’s other disciples and followers. Until ultimately man is at the armageddon fiery blaze - Gal.5:20. Using words to set a blaze going.. is sorcery! But also, a person who has developed an habitual, terribly sharp tongue, maybe it proceeds from a deep, dark misery they’re going through? And we can pray for them.}

            πŸŒ™ P.M. Luke 10:21-28

21 - At that same hour (when the seventy-two returned, excited over their mission) Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and he said, “I thank you, Father! Lord of heaven and earth! That you’ve hidden these things from the learned and {those the world considers} wise, and have revealed them as to little children. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 22 All [pas - all, every, the whole] has been given to me by my Father. And no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is, except the Son, and those who the Son chooses to reveal him to.” {Father and Son are so close, both administer God’s Spirit/Presence, the same as will “seal” and saturate all creation and humanity.}

     23 Then he turned to the disciples and said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! 24 For I tell you many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and didn’t. And to hear what you hear, and they didn’t hear it.”

     25 And then a lawyer stood up and asked him a question, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit the enduring life?” 26 Jesus said, “What’s written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And the lawyer (scribe) answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

     28 And Jesus said to him, “You’ve answered right! Do this, and you shall live.” {But we have to do it perfectly. Or accept “Christ Crucified” as our pardon, and our enduring, declared innocent verdict. Judge needing to be appeased? Our own psyche and conscience?}
