☀️ A.M. James 1:16-22
16 - Don’t be misled, my beloved brethren! 17 Every good gift, every perfect gift {every good thing in life} is from above! It comes down from the Father of light [of photon - radiance]. And he is not like the shifting shadows that change throughout each day.
18 It is his own will and intent, that he brought us forth. And he did so by the word [logos - message, reasoning, root word of logic] of truth. {By the logos/reasoning/logic of truth}. And did so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. {To serve called reigning during Jesus’ long second advent? Full scope version of his first so brief one? Note: the three mentions of lake of fire are at huge fiery events.}
19 Know this, my beloved, let every one be quick to hear, but slow to speak. And slow to anger! 20 For human anger doesn’t produce the righteousness {and rightness} of God. 21 Therefore having put away all moral contamination and rampant wickedness [kakopoiéō - wicked disposition, malice, wickedness] {state of hatred? malice, galatians 5:20}. Instead receive with humility the implanted word [logos - reasoning, message, logic] which is able to save your souls [psuché - soul, life, self, inner being]. 22 So don’t be misled, my beloved brethren! Don’t deceive and mislead yourself! And be only hearers of the message. But be a doer [poiétés - doer, maker, poet] of it!
🌙 P.M. Luke 9:51-62
51 - When the days drew near for his ascension [analémpsis - ascension, taking up] he set his face to go to Jerusalem. [Cross Ref - Jn.3:13 - No one has ascended [anabainó - rose, ascended, gone up] into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.]
52 He sent messengers ahead, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him. 53 But the people didn’t receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem. 54 And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” 55 But he was indignant with them. 56 And they went on to another village. (John who later talked so much about Love! As an old man called everyone “my children”. This James is his brother. They were fishermen under their father, and their team was partners with that of Peter and Andrew, also brothers, and disciples.)
57 As they were going along, someone said to him, “I’ll follow you wherever you go!” 58 But Jesus said, “Foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man hasn’t anywhere to lay his head!” 59 To someone else he said, “Follow me.” But he answered, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60 And Jesus said, “Let the dead bury the dead. And go, and proclaim the kingdom of God.” 61 And yet someone else said, “I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at home.” 62 Jesus said to him, “No one putting their hand to the plow and then looks back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
