James 1 16-22

09/03 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

16 - Don’t be misled, my beloved brethren! 17 Every good gift, every perfect gift, is from above! It comes down from the Father of light [of photon - radiance]. And he is not like the shifting shadows that change throughout each day. 18 It is his own will that he brought us forth by the word/message/reasoning/logos of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. {To serve called reigning during Jesus’ long second advent? Full scope version of his first so brief one? Note: the three mentions of lake of fire are at huge fiery events.}

      19 Know this, my beloved, let every one be quick to hear, but slow to speak, and slow to anger. 20 For human anger doesn’t produce the righteousness {and rightness} of God. 21 Therefore having put away all moral contamination and rampant wickedness [kakopoiรฉล - wicked disposition, malice, wickedness] {state of hatred? malice, galatians 5:20} receive with humility the implanted word [logos - reasoning, root word of logic] which is able to save your souls [psuchรฉ - soul, life, self, inner being]. 22 But don’t deceive and mislead yourself! Being only hearers of the word. But be doers of it! [Doer - performer, poet.]

JOHN 5 18-29

    ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ•Š️02/06 - GospeL Verses ๐Ÿ•Š️๐Ÿƒ

18 - This was why the leaders of the nation were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he loosening the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

     19 So Jesus told them, “Truly, the Son can do nothing of his own accord. But only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, is what the Son does as well. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all which - he himself - is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so you may wonder. 21 For as the Father raises the dead {“raises “the” dead, not raises their dead bodies, but literally them} and gives them life {a retuRn to being alive and aware, from a state of not being alive/aware}.

     So also, the Son gives life {and awareness} to whom he will. 22 For the Father doesn’t judge anyone, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. 24 Truly, I tell you, whoever hears my word {message} and believes he who sent me, has enduring life. They do not come into judgment, but have passed over [metabainรณ - from meta - after or beyond, and baino - to go, to walk — (have) transitioned] from death to life.” [(My) WORD - logos - word, speech, message, account, reason, doctrine; reasoning expressed in words] {Jesus is the logos/message/reasoning/truth -> personified.}

     25 “Truly, I tell you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. {Now here - until Christ in us, we are reckoned as dead.} 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man” {became in a body like man, was raised as having an incorruptible, non entropic, and perfect body. Surely was saying something by eating with his disciples after he was raised. We do not yet know what manner/substance.. A higher body but still a literal and real body and being. Not only winds. “We shall be like him”.} 28 Don’t marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are - in the tombs - will hear his voice 29 and will come out {of the tombs/graves, out of the dust and lower part of the earth} those who have done good to the resurrection of life” {at his return/appearing and into his long second advent ..as helpers serving, called reigning, full scope version of his so brief first one?} “and those who have done evil [phaulos - evil, wicked, worthless, bad, base] into the resurrection of judgment” {into the GWT (great white throne) judgment/full discernment/proof  ‘day’ of “aionion kolasis”/eonian korrection (age of correction? See Fall holy days of Lev.23) on/during the “8th day” the “last Great Day” - Jn.12:32, 7:37, Lev.23:36; DOA for the initially doa.}

1 Corinthians 10:14-24

11/19 ~ From New Testament Letters

  ๐Ÿ•Š️ (In the Order Believed Written)

14 - Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 15 I speak as to sensible people. Judge for yourselves what I say. 16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? {They did it literally during meal time/breaking of bread? But it’s also meant for us as a spiritual formula? For success, the spiritual bread, our daily bread, the written logos to us, dipped liberally into the new wine of God’s Spirit/Presence.. Especially in these days of high information technology, it’s better to be “mind-washed” by GOD’s message - logos means “reasoning expressed in words” - than by the world, the world’s voice. If we can get past the human translator errors in the message, which has more or less hijacked the message! And, like we dump the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle out on the table, and then we separate the pieces onto the border.. and then the color matching parts.. We need to know the bible, to see the pieces and where they fit.}

     17 There is the one bread (Christ) and we who are many are one body. For we all partake of the one bread. 18 Consider the people of Israel, were not those who ate the sacrifices, participants in the altar (work)? 19 What do I imply then? That food offered to idols of the nations is anything? Or that an idol is anything? 20 No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. Surely you shouldn’t be participants with demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. 22 Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

     23 “Such things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “Such things are lawful,” but not all things build up. 24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. {Don’t argue about days and foods?! ..Paul was saying if eating food sacrificed to an idol will offend your brother or sister, consider that instead of our own wishes.}

GospeL Verses ~ Luke 18:35-43 ~

35 - As Jesus drew near Jericho, there was a blind man sitting by the side of the road and begging. 36 And hearing the crowd going by, he asked what it all meant. 37 And they told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” 38 So he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David! Have mercy on me!” 39 And those passing by at the front scolded him, and told him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 Jesus stopped and asked that he be brought to him. And when he had come near, he asked him, 41 “What is it that you want?” And the man said, “Lord, let me have my sight.” 42 And Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he recovered his sight, and he followed with the rest, praising God. And  when the people saw it they were happy.

9 - It’s my (Paul’s) prayer that your love (and affection for all) may abound more and more. And with it knowledge, and all discernment. 10 So you can understand [diaphรฉrล  - from diรก - through, intensifying phรฉrล - carry through, all the way, to distinguish fully what is better/superior, transition to] what is excellent, and so be pure [eilikrinรฉs - unalloyed, genuine, sincere, from heilฤ“ - shining, and krystallรญzล] and blameless [aproskopoi - not causing to stumble, not stumbling, free of hurt or harm, not causing offense, blameless, literally without offense or offending] unto/into [eis - to or into, the point reached or entered, of place, time, purpose, result] (the door of Mt.25:10?) to/into/for? the day of Christ. 11 And filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus. Which is all to the glory and praise of God.

     12 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. 13 So that now it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard (in Rome) and further, that my imprisonment is for Christ. 14 And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my example, are much more bold to proclaim the message [logos - word, reasoning expressed in words] without fear.

     15 Some indeed preach Christ from ill will and rivalry. But others from good will 16 and out of love, knowing that I am in these chains for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former proclaiming Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but hoping to trouble me in my imprisonment. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is being proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. And yes, shall rejoice.

1 - After saying these things, he looked up toward heaven and prayed, Father, the time has come for you to bring glory to your Son, in order that he may bring glory to you. 2 For you have given him authority over everyone. And he gives everlasting life to everyone you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life - to know you, the one true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent forth. 4 I have glorified you upon Earth, by completing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now Father, bring me into your presence and the glory I had in you before the world began. 6 I have revealed you to those you gave me out of the world. They were yours and you gave them to me. And they have kept your word [logos - reasoning, expressed in words (and expressed in the Son) (the) message]. 7 Now they know that everything you have given to me, comes from you. 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received those words, and they know that I truly came from you. And they have believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them, not for the world, but for those you gave me, for they are yours. 10 All that is yours is mine, and all that is yours is mine. And I am glorified in them. 11 And now I will no longer be in the world, for I am coming to you, but they are in the world. 25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question of conscience. (Since meat sold previously sacrificed to an idol, was actually sacrificed to nothing.) 26 Because, “the earth belongs to the Lord, and everything that’s in it.” 27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, you can eat whatever is put before you without worrying about questions of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then don’t eat it, for the sake of conscience. 29 I don’t mean your conscience, but his. For why would my liberty be determined by someone else’s conscience? 30 For if I eat and give thanks, why should I be condemned for eating it? 31 But whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Try not to cause any problems, for Jews, Greeks or for the church of God. 33 I try to please everyone in all I do. Not for my benefit, but for the benefit of many, that they may be saved/(believe).

          Luke 8:26-39

26 Jesus and his disciples sailed across Lake Galilee and came to shore near the town of Gerasa. 27 As Jesus was climbing out of the boat, a man who was possessed by demons (angels gone rogue) came out to meet him. For a long time he had been homeless and naked, living in the tombs outside of town. 28 As soon as he saw Jesus, he shrieked and fell down in front of him. Then he screamed, “Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Please, I beg you not to torment me!” 29 For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and been driven by the demon into solitary places.

     30 Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered him. 31 And they begged him not to banish them to the abyss. 32 A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. So the demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs, and Jesus let them go. 33 When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned. 34 When the herdsmen saw it, they fled to the nearby town and the surrounding countryside, spreading the news as they ran. 35 People rushed out to see what had happened. A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been freed from the demons. He was sitting at Jesus’ feet, fully clothed and perfectly sane, and this frightened them. 36 Then all who had seen the man healed told about it. 37 But fear still swept through them, and they asked Jesus to leave their territory, so he got into the boat and started back. 38 The man who had been freed from the demons begged to go with him. But Jesus sent him home, saying, 39 "Go back home and tell everyone how much God has done for you." The man then went all over town, telling everything that Jesus had done for him.

(Written by John, one of Jesus’ twelve disciples, now an old man.)

1 - We (apostles and other disciples/followers) proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, which we heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word [logos - reasoning expressed in words] (so also Truth expressed in Jesus, the word) of life. [Jesus is called “the first/proto” among other things, he’s the prototype.. Only straight out from God one, so close both Father and Son can administer God’s Spirit/Presence. He is also called “the seed” which God is implanting in all. ..How else to have genuinely able to think and reason beings - both angelos (accelerators of this all playing out) and anthropos (mankind) - aNd keep paradise/perfection intact? As thinking includes at least some power of choice.] 2 The life appeared. And we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life (perfection embodied) which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3 We are telling you what we have seen and heard, so you may share in this life with us. And we share in it (our friendship is) with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write, so that our own joy might be complete!

30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

     21:1 - Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Tiberias (west side of the Sea of Galilee). It happened this way, 2 Simon Peter, Thomas called the twin, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together, 3 when Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing.” “We’ll come, too,” they all said. So they went out in the boat. But they caught nothing all night.

     4 At dawn Jesus was standing at the shore, but they couldn’t see who it was. 5 He called out to them, “Friends, have you any fish?” “No,” they answered. 6 “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”

     So they did, and then they were not able to haul the net back into the boat, because they had caught so many fish.

           ~ Hebrews 2:1-3 ~

1 - We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, or we may DRIFT away from it. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding (unalterable) and every violation of it received its just wage (translated recompense). [Misthapodosia: payment of wages, from misthรณs - reward and apodรญdลmi - return, give back.]

     ๐Ÿค” I can’t help but think here of Mt.25 - vs.6,  — At midnight the cry rang out! “The bridegroom’s here! Come out to meet him!” 8 Then half of the bridesmaids said, “Oh no! Our lamps are going out!” and to their sister bridesmaids said “Quick give us a little of your oil!” And of course they couldn’t or they’d all ‘miss the boat’. — Moral, we cannot borrow someone else’s light (learning, knowing). That will not work. And of course Jesus is the Light. That’s the way God made it. Binding. And sufficient! The bridesmaids get to the door of the celebration late and find it shut. They knock but the groom says “But I don’t know you!” (You party crashers.) But get this - it’s assumed by our erstwhile translators, the worst! (I’m not sure what erstwhile means, but it sounds pretty good doesn’t it?) But is this reaLLy the door to Life? And it is shut forever?!

     Of course not! Even with just the parable itself, that makes no sense. The door is to the wedding and celebration. Now if not acquainted with the Scriptures, or have drifted from their meaning, it takes a little focusing of the lens to see what, or when, the door is shut to.

     ..We could say the bridesmaids were in a binding contract.. but they didn’t fulfill their end of it.

     [Binding - bรฉbaios - literally "what can be tread upon" then refers to what is fully dependable, i.e. worthy of confidence because on "solid footing." This describes what is fully secure, stable, and therefore can be trusted to give full support, from the same as basis.] [New King James Version - “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.”]

     3 So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? [From a commentary - “In a different context these words might naturally mean, ‘How shall we, transgressors of the law, escape from the penalty it threatens, if we neglect the one means of deliverance now offered us?’” (God is Life and “is perfect” but we inherited from Adam imperfection - hamartia - missing the mark - so..? We pass away.. God gave dominion to man (anthropos). So in this universe (Rev.21:1) all matter is fading and falling apart. Yes apocalypse began with the first imperfect thought. But the other option? Ant farm. So the “redemption, ransom, deliverance” rescue was “built in from the foundation/beginning. Christ Jesus. All in Jesus.” And Jesus in all. And He being the only straight out from God one of same essence and character.. Logos - the expression of, and “outraying of” God. Jesus is that expression and “reasoning”. Logos is also “reasoning expressed in words” - the Word - the written logos — both expressions of Logos/Truth, the sWord that cuts through all fog and mists and it alone remains standing. The iron measure. What is, is.

     Preview of tomorrows verses - 4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will/purpose. [Thelรฉsis - will, from ethelo - determination.]
