☀️ A.M. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-14
1 - Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers and sisters, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the LORD will come like a thief in the night. {🤔Sneakily! No one knows when “but the Father”.} 3 While they are saying, “Peace [eiréné - peace, from a primary verb eiro - to join; properly, wholeness, i.e. when all essential parts are joined together] and security” [asphaleia - security, safety, exact truth, certainty] then suddenly comes upon them destruction, like labor pains come upon a woman with child, and they’ll not escape.
4 But you are not in darkness, that the day should surprise you. 5 For you’re children of the day, and of light. We are not of the night, nor of the darkness.
6 So then let us not be as though asleep, as others, but let us stay awake, and sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep during the night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the covering and protecting breastplate of faith and love. And for a helmet the hope [elpis - expectation!] of {full and complete} salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath. {Dust to dust/imperfection-entropy/full gone and, or the fiery judgments/gehenna which are earthLy. There are three mentions of a lake of fire, all at huge fiery events, #1-armageddon, Mt.13:30/Is.24:20-Rev.10:4; #2-at the fiery final defeat of the adversary/accelerator/first gone rogue one&Co. Rev.20:7-10; and #3-at the fiery “palin/again-genesis”/regeneration/re-”genesis” of Rev.21:1-5, “behold! I make aLL new!”}.
{Instead of destined for the role of wrath in this contrast and “all the world’s a stage” age..} We are destined to obtain salvation [sótéria - welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation, safety] {life!} through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 Who died for us so that we will live with him, whether we may wait and watch or sleep {in death awaiting}. 11 Therefore encourage one another! And build one another up.! Just as you’re doing.
12 We ask you, brothers and sisters, to appreciate those who labor among you, teaching and counseling as leaders and examples in the Lord. {Discipling!} 13 And so esteem them very highly in love because of their work. And be at peace among yourselves. 14 And we urge you to admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak. And be patient with all.

7 - Jesus told a parable to those who were invited to the dinner (at a Pharisee’s house). When he noticed how many had chosen seats of honor he said, 8 “If you’re invited by someone to a wedding banquet, don’t go and sit in one of the seats of honor, 9 lest you be embarrassed if you’re asked to sit somewhere else.
10 When you’re invited, sit in a lower, more humble seat. Then when the host comes, he may say to you, ‘Friend, come sit in this better seat.’ Then you’ll be honored in the presence of everyone sitting at table with you. 11 For everyone who exalts themself will be humbled, and they who humble themselves will be lifted up.”
12 Then he said to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, don’t just invite your friends or your siblings and relatives and wealthy neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and so you are repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,14 and you’ll be blessed. Because they can’t repay you. And then you’ll be rewarded at the resurrection of the just.”
