Hebrews 13:1-7  Mark 4:30-34

            ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 13:1-7

1 - Let brotherly love take root and remain. 2 Don’t be forgetful of hospitality, for by it some have entertained angels without knowing it. 3 Remember your brothers and sisters who are in prison, as though you are in prison with them! And also those who are mistreated, since you also are in this world.

     4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed be undefiled, for the sexually immoral and adulterous God will judge. {All in their hearts! The logic being isn’t that - the, most convincing - perhaps onLy true convincing? JN.12:32.}

     5 Guard from, and keep your life free, from the - love - of money. Be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”. 6 And so we, with all confidence, can say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can mere man really do to me?”

     7 Remember your elders in the faith, those who spoke to you the message [logos - word, speech, message, account, reason, doctrine, expressed in words reasoning] of God. Consider the fruit of their ways, and imitate their faith. {666 ‘only’ runs for 45 days.. test: another 45 is w/ rev.13:13. Which was carried out by an office, and enabled by a magician. I’ll add the verses below.}

30 - And Jesus said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God? Or what parable shall we use to describe it?

     31 It’s like a grain of mustard seed. When it’s sown in the earth, it’s the smallest of all the seeds. 32 Yet, when it takes root, sprouts and grows, it becomes the tallest and biggest plant in the garden. Even the little birds come and make nests in its branches.” {Summary of the Outlines! ..In the scripture/written logos; the week plus one and within that outline, the Spring and Fall holy days - of Lev.23 - as 1st brief advent and 2nd long advent.      33 It was by many such parables that he taught the message to the people, as they were able to hear. 34 He didn’t speak to them without a parable, but privately, to his own disciples, he explained everything.

            ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 11:34-40

{This next is not for the timid, nor any of us really, love 38-40 though.} 34 - By faith (they) quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight! {If they’d been passive they’d have been chewed up and spit out. And not swading cloths for Chrst “savior of the world”.} 35 Women received back their dead, others were tortured refusing to accept release, that better resurrection (they would) obtain. {There’s two.}

    36 Others suffered mocking and flogging, even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, sawn in two, killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated, 38 of whom the world was not worthy, wandering about in deserts and mountains, living in dens and caves of the earth.

     39 And all these, though commended by their faith, didn’t receive what was promised, 40 since God had provided something better. That apart from us they should not {yet} be made perfect.

36 - One of the Pharisees, named Simon, asked Jesus to dine with him, so he went to the Pharisee's house and was reclined at table, 37 when a woman of the city, who was known to be notorious, learned that he was there, and brought an alabaster flask of ointment. 38 And standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. And she kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment.

     39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he thought to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him! For she’s a known sinner.”

     40 But Jesus said to him, “Simon, I have something to say.” And he said, “Say it, teacher.”

     41 “A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 When they couldn’t pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?”

     43 Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, for whom the larger debt was canceled.” And he said to him, “You have judged rightly.” 44 Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, “See now this woman. I entered your house, you gave me no water for my feet. (It was a polite custom to offer guests water to rinse the dust of the street off their feet.) But she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You gave me no kiss of greeting. But from the time I came in, she’s not ceased to kiss my feet. 46 You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet.

     47 So I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loves much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little.” 48 And he said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.”

     49 And those who were at table with him were saying, “Who is this? Who says he forgives sins?” 50 And Jesus said to her, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

Hebrews 11:22-33

22 -  By faith Joseph, at the end of his life, told them to take his bones with them, for he foresaw they would exodus from Egypt.

     23 By faith Moses, when born, was hidden for three months by his parents. They saw the child was blessed, and they were not afraid of the king's edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he was grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing instead to be mistreated with his own people, the people of God, rather than enjoy the fleeting pleasures of Egypt.

     26 He considered being out of favor because of Christ, to be greater wealth - than all the treasures of Egypt! For he was looking to the reward [misthapodosía - from misthós - reward, and apodídōmi - return, give back]. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king, for he endured by seeing he who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.

     29 And it was by faith the people crossed the Red Sea as if on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted it, were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they circled the walls for seven days. 31 By faith Rahab the prostitute didn’t perish with those who were unbelieving, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies. {“All those in the tombs/graves will come forth..” Jesus “will draw all” Jn.5:28,29 and 12:32.}

     32 And what more shall I say?! It would take too long to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets,  33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions..

24 - When John's messengers had gone, Jesus said to the crowds that were around him, “What was it you went out into the wilderness to see? Was it a reed shaken by the wind? 25 What was it you went out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Listen, those who’re dressed in fine clothing and live in luxury are in kings' courts.

     26 What then did you go out to see? To see a prophet? Yes. And I tell you, more than a prophet! 27 This is he of whom it’s written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before you, who will prepare the way before you.’”{And so it is with the world’s “false prophet”. Prepares the way for the mankind and a.c. of lawlessness, etc.}

     28 “I tell you, among those born of woman, none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” {During long 2nd advent? Full scope version of his first so brief one, but with helpers serving called reigning? Crowns of Life, not metal.}

     29 When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too (disliked, even despised, because they collected taxes for Rome) they all declared God just, having been baptized (prepared) with the baptism of John. 30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God, and were not baptized by John.

     31 “To what then shall I compare it? What are they like? 32 They’re like children in the marketplace, calling to one another, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We sang a dirge, and you didn’t weep.’ 33 For John the Baptist (baptizer) has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’ 34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ 35 Yet wisdom is justified of her children.”

11 - By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the uncountable grains of sand by the seashore. {…That’s a lot. “The seed” - “is Jesus” Galatians 3:16.}

    13 These all died in faith, not having received the promise, but they saw it from afar, and considered that they were strangers and pilgrims upon the earth.

39 - Jesus began with a parable “Can a blind person lead a blind person? Won’t they both fall into a ditch? 40 A disciple isn’t above their teacher, but everyone when fully trained will be like the teacher. 41 But why do you see the speck that’s in someone else’s eye? And don’t notice the log in your own eye?

     42 How can you say, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself aren’t seeing the log in your own eye? Hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, then you might see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

     43 A good tree isn’t going to bear bad fruit, nor will a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 Each tree is known by its own fruit. Figs aren’t gathered from thorn bushes. And you can’t pick grapes from the brambles.

     45 A person produces and speaks out of what’s in their heart. Good treasure in the heart will produce good. But evil [poneros - bad, grievous] {notGood} treasure of heart produces evil [poneros].

     46 Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do what I tell you? 47 Everyone who comes to me, hears my words, and does them, 48 I’ll tell you what they’re like - they’re like someone building a house, who dug deep, and laid their foundation on the rock. And when a flood rose, the stream broke against the house and couldn’t shake it, because it had been solidly built.

     49 But the one who hears my words, and doesn’t do them, is like someone who built a house on the ground without a foundation. And when the river breaks against it, it falls apart. And the ruin of the house is great.” {Individual and collective.}

8 - By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to leave home and go out to a place that he was to be given as an inheritance. And he went, not knowing where he was going. 9 Yes, it was by faith that he went to live in the land promised, in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city {and kingdom} which foundations were designed and built by God.

Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back from them.

     35 But love your enemies! Do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. And your reward will be great, and you will be sons and daughters of the Most High. For he is kind to the ungrateful and to the evil [poneros - wicked, bad, malicious {even} evil]. 36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.” {He made the psyche.. all will come out in the wash.}

     37 “Don’t judge [krinó - judge, decide, pass nudgment, determine, try, condemn {accuse? label?] others, and you won’t be judged.” {Accused, slandered, labeled.} “Don’t condemn others, and you won’t be condemned. If you forgive others” {their missing the mark}, “you’ll be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you, in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will it be given to you! For with the measure you use {for Good or for notGood} so shall it be measured - back - to you.”

          ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 10:35-39

35 - Therefore don’t throw away your confidence, for it has great reward. 36 We have need of endurance, so when we have done the will [theléma - will, desire, purpose] of God we may receive what he has promised. 37 For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay.” {I have always assumed this language is because the scripture is to us, and to all, as life as we presently know it, is very brief, no matter what generation we’re in, so his coming is not far off from any of us. And resurrection - there are two - is collective, Jn.5:28-29. I have always known the scripture is written to me, to you, to all of us. One message and thrilling story.. Works a bit like a jigsaw puzzle. And Father does love a good riddle? Loves communicating and being understood. Don’t you think? He is indeed, Father. Loving Father, “his mercy [checed - lovingkindness, mercy, steadfast love, loyalty, faithfulness, goodness] is endless” Ps.118.}

     38 And “my righteous ones will live by faith, and if they should fall away, my soul cannot delight in them.” [Fall away, shrink back - hypostéllō - from hypó - under, and stéllō - draw in; to withdraw.]

     39 But we’re not of those who shrink back and are ruined, but of those who have faith and are gaining their souls. [Gaining - peripoíēsis - possession, acquisition, preservation; from perí - all around, and poiéō - make, properly, make one's own, completely obtain, i.e. as a full possession (to real advantage) – literally - for abundant, all-around gain.] {Not to beat a dead horse, but today’s choice? Rev.16:14-15-16 versus Mt.25:1-13, MT.13:30.}

To save life or to destroy it?” 10 And after looking around at them all he said to the man, “Reach out your hand.” And he did, and his hand was restored.

     11 The scribes and Pharisees {experts, leaders, political more than religious/devoted} were filled with rage [anoia - foolishness, senselessness, rage, madness] and consulted with one another what they should do to Jesus.

     MARK 3:1 - On another day, Jesus entered the synagogue, and a man was there who had a withered hand. 2 And they watched him to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so they might accuse him. 3 And he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up here.” 4 And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm? To save life or to kill?” But they stayed silent.

     5 And he looked around at them with indignation. [Orgé - indignation, anger, passion] (often translated wrath, translators often chose the most extreme interpretation of words, due to a lack of faith?)

     Grieved at the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and as he did, his hand was restored and whole.

     6 The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him. (The Herodian Hebrews were politically and in their views aligned with Greece.)

     7 Jesus then withdrew with his disciples to Galilee sea, and a great crowd followed after him, from Galilee, Judea, 8 Jerusalem, and Idumea, from beyond the Jordan River, and from Tyre and Sidon. For when people heard all that he was doing, they came to him.

     9 And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him. 10 For he had healed many, and all who had diseases pressed around him, and sought to touch him.

     11 And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, the demon made the person fall down before him, and cry out, “You are the Son of God!” 12 But he strictly ordered them not to make him known.
