Hebrews 11:22-33

22 -  By faith Joseph, at the end of his life, told them to take his bones with them, for he foresaw they would exodus from Egypt.

     23 By faith Moses, when born, was hidden for three months by his parents. They saw the child was blessed, and they were not afraid of the king's edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he was grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing instead to be mistreated with his own people, the people of God, rather than enjoy the fleeting pleasures of Egypt.

     26 He considered being out of favor because of Christ, to be greater wealth - than all the treasures of Egypt! For he was looking to the reward [misthapodosía - from misthós - reward, and apodídōmi - return, give back]. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king, for he endured by seeing he who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.

     29 And it was by faith the people crossed the Red Sea as if on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted it, were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they circled the walls for seven days. 31 By faith Rahab the prostitute didn’t perish with those who were unbelieving, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies. {“All those in the tombs/graves will come forth..” Jesus “will draw all” Jn.5:28,29 and 12:32.}

     32 And what more shall I say?! It would take too long to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets,  33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions..

24 - When John's messengers had gone, Jesus said to the crowds that were around him, “What was it you went out into the wilderness to see? Was it a reed shaken by the wind? 25 What was it you went out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Listen, those who’re dressed in fine clothing and live in luxury are in kings' courts.

     26 What then did you go out to see? To see a prophet? Yes. And I tell you, more than a prophet! 27 This is he of whom it’s written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before you, who will prepare the way before you.’”{And so it is with the world’s “false prophet”. Prepares the way for the mankind and a.c. of lawlessness, etc.}

     28 “I tell you, among those born of woman, none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” {During long 2nd advent? Full scope version of his first so brief one, but with helpers serving called reigning? Crowns of Life, not metal.}

     29 When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too (disliked, even despised, because they collected taxes for Rome) they all declared God just, having been baptized (prepared) with the baptism of John. 30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God, and were not baptized by John.

     31 “To what then shall I compare it? What are they like? 32 They’re like children in the marketplace, calling to one another, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We sang a dirge, and you didn’t weep.’ 33 For John the Baptist (baptizer) has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’ 34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ 35 Yet wisdom is justified of her children.”

ACTS 7 17-37

  Book of the Acts of the First Believers

(Stephen continues his very good history lesson) 17 - “But as the time of the promise [of a homeland] drew near, which God had told Abraham, the people had increased and multiplied in Egypt 18 until another king rose in Egypt who didn’t know Joseph [the nation as friends]. 19 He dealt poorly with our race and forced our fathers to expose their infants [to the elements] so they would perish. 20 And it was at this time that Moses was born, and he was beautiful in God's sight.” {As all babies are.. Yet God was choosing/had chosen/predetermined Moses for his purpose.} “And he remained for three months in his father's house, 21 and when he was put out in the elements, Pharaoh's daughter adopted him and brought him up as her own. 22 And so Moses was instructed in all the schooling and knowledge of the Egyptians, and was also gifted in his words and in his deeds.

     23 When he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel. 24 And then seeing one of them being beaten, he defended and avenged the oppressed man by striking down the Egyptian. 25 He supposed that his brothers would understand that God was going to deliver them by his hand, but they didn’t. 26 And on the following day he returned and saw some were quarreling and he tried to reconcile them, saying, ‘Men, you’re brothers. Why do you fight each other?’ 27 But the man who was wronging his neighbor {fellow person} pushed him aside, and said, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?! 28 Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?!’ 29 At this, Moses fled and became an exile in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.

     30 Now when forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning bush.” {Must be a strong metaphor here. Parable, in the literal. Fire that doesn’t consume. Is in the heart?} 31 Now when Moses saw that, he was amazed. And as he drew near to get a better look, there came from the bush, the voice of the LORD saying, 32 ‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and no longer dared to look. 33 Then the LORD said to him, ‘Take the sandals from off your feet, for the place where you’re standing is holy ground. 34 I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in slavery and bondage in Egypt. I have heard their groaning, and I’ve come down to deliver them. So now come, I will send you to Egypt.’

     35 This Moses” Stephen continued, “whom they at first rejected, saying, ‘Who made you a judge and ruler?’—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer by the hand of the angel [aggelos - a messenger, delegate] who was in the burning bush. 36 This Moses is the one who led them out, and performed wonders and signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years. 37 And this is the one who said to the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you the prophet like me, from among your brothers.’”

    Book of the Acts of the First Believers

1 - Then the high priest asked Stephen, “Are these charges true?” 2 Stephen said, “Brothers, and fathers, listen. The God of glory, long ago, appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Harran (in the northwest Mesopotamian region). 3 God told him ‘Leave your country and your people, and go to the land that I will show you.’

     4 So he left the land of the Chaldeans and he settled in Harran. And then, after the death of his father, God sent him to this land, where we are now. 5 He gave him no inheritance, not even enough land to set his foot on. But God promised him, he and his descendants after him, would possess this land. Even though at that time, Abraham had no child.

     6 And God also told him, ‘For four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country which isn’t their own. They will be enslaved and mistreated. (Israel ‘microcosm’ - world macro.) 7 But I will punish that nation. And afterward they will come out and will worship me⛲️here in this place.’” {From where, during the Lord’s long second advent,  the kingdom of God will spread and grow out from. And then, after “the regeneration” [palin/again-genesis] the River of Life will flow from the throne of God from there ..the lion will eat straw like the ox, the bear and cow will graze together, Isaiah 11:7.}

     8 “Then he gave Abraham the covenant/agreement/contract of promises of circumcision. And Abraham became the father of Isaac and circumcised him “eight” days after his birth. Later Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.” [The fathers of the twelve tribes.]

     9 “Now, BECAUSE the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, THEY sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him, 10 rescued him from all his troubles, and gave him wisdom, because of which he became well thought of and under the goodwill of Pharaoh, king of Egypt. Pharaoh even made him ruler over Egypt and of all his palace! 11 But then a famine struck all Egypt and Canaan, bringing great suffering, and our ancestors back in this land, couldn’t find food. 12 When Jacob heard there was grain in Egypt” (stored for Egypt, by Joseph, whom God had warned of the coming drought by a dream Joseph, through God’s Spirit, interpreted for Pharoah) “he sent for our forefathers, the brothers of Joseph, on their first visit to Egypt. 13 But it was on their second visit, that Joseph told them who he was. And Pharaoh learned it too. 14 After this, Joseph sent for his father Jacob and the whole family, seventy-five in all. 15 So Jacob went down to Egypt, and that’s where he and our ancestors died. 16 Their bodies were later brought back to the land, to Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought with silver, from the sons of Hamor at Shechem.” (They died and slept.. redeemed with silver, so to speak, thirty pieces..)

And the practice was continued when Isaac became the father of Jacob, and also when Jacob became the father of the twelve fathers of the Israelite nation.” (On the “8th day” the “last great day” - Lev.23:36, Jn.7:37 - imperfection/“hamartia-missing the mark, translated sin, will be totally  circumcised from off of mankind. God hides the Truth in plain sight and says it over and over.) 9 “Because the brothers were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him 10 and rescued him from all his troubles. He gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain the goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt. So Pharaoh made him ruler over Egypt and all his palace (and resources). 11 Then famine and its suffering swept across Egypt and Canaan, and our fathers could not find food. 12 Father Jacob heard that there was still grain in Egypt, so he sent his sons—our ancestors, the brothers—to buy some. 13 It was on their second trip that Joseph told them who he was, and Pharaoh learned about Joseph's family. 14 Then Joseph sent for his father, Jacob, and all his relatives to come to Egypt, seventy-five persons in all.

     15 So Jacob went to Egypt. He died there, as did our ancestors, the fathers. 16 Later their bodies were taken back to Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought from the sons of Hamor.

     Very Brief Outline of Acts:

Jesus returns to where he was with the Father before his advent/visit (his brief first one).

The Holy Spirit/Presence of God is poured out on the believers who were in Jerusalem on the late Spring holy day of Pentecost. Peter speaks, there are 3000 new believers that day.

The good news message spreads, Peter is invited and goes to a Roman’s house and all believe. The first record of non Hebrew believers (besides likely some on Pentecost).

     Persecution breaks out.. jail. stoning. Pharisee Saul leads the persecution, but on his way to Damascus with papers for arrests, Jesus makes himself seen but is so bright Paul falls to the ground and is blinded. After two days he is healed and is a believer, and soon is called Paul. He wrote many (to most) of the New Testament letters, but spent a few years (it seems to me) exclusively listening to the Lord. He established many ‘churches’ in what’s called three missionary journeys, and met and worked with Mark and Luke, and quite a few others. (Luke wrote this Book of Acts.) His fourth journey is to Rome to trial as a prisoner. There’s a shipwreck on the way.. He wrote many of his letters while in prison and under ‘house’ arrest.

⁴⁰ The people said to Aaron, “Make some gods to lead us! Moses led us out of Egypt, but we don’t know what’s happened to him now.”  ⁴¹ Then they made an idol in the shape of a calf. They offered sacrifices to the idol and were pleased with what they had done.
- Will it work if mankind makes government to be Providence?
