11/04 - Mark 14 1-9 1Cor 6 1-8

8TH ‘DAY’ CU Journal, New Testament In A Year

 Verses paraphrased due to ©‘s [[ref] {{thots}

            ༺☀️༻ 1 Corinthians 6:1-8

1 - When one of you has a grievance against another, why go to law before the unbelievers instead of to the saints? (Believers.) 2 Or do you not know the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3 Do you know we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! 4 So if you have such cases, why do you bring them before those who have no standing in the church? 5 I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the two of you who are fellow believers, 6 but brother goes to law against brother, sister against sister, and before unbelievers? 7 To have lawsuits with one another at all is already a defeat. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? 8 But you yourselves wrong and defraud even your own brothers and sisters!

            ༺☾πŸŒŸπ–€“༻ MARK 14:1-9

1 - And now it was two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread [two days in a row, called interchangeably, as was the whole week also referred to by either name]. And the leaders of the nation, the chief priests and scribes, were seeking how to arrest him on the sly and have him killed. 2 But they were thinking ‘not during the feast, in case there should be an uproar from the people’.

     3 Meanwhile Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the (ex)leper, as he was reclining at table. And a woman came in with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure spikenard, very costly and fragrant, and she broke it and poured it over his head. [Anointing of a king, Christos - “the anointed one”.] 4 There were some there who were indignant and thought to theirselves, ‘why was this fine ointment wasted like that? 5 It could at least have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And so some were scolding her.

     6 But Jesus said, “Don’t bother her. Why are you troubling her? She’s done a good thing. 7 You always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you’ll not always have me. 8 She has done what she can. She has anointed me beforehand for burial. 9 And truly, I tell you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in all the world, what she has done will also be told.”

Jesus “will draw all” Jn.12:32.
