 • 2 Corinthians 12:6-12 Matthew 4:12-17

            ☀️ 2 Corinthians 12:6-12

6 - Should I wish to boast, I wouldn’t actually be a fool, for I’d be speaking the truth. But I refrain from it, so no one will think more of me than they see in me or hear from me. 7 And then, to keep me from becoming puffed up [huperairΓ³ - to lift self up, having an exaggerated sense of self-importance] because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn in my flesh was given to me. Like a messenger of Satan to harass me! But to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I prayed that it be removed. 9 But he said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power’s made perfect in weakness.”

     Therefore! I will boast all the more gladly of my frailty. So the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I’m not troubled by weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, or calamities. For when I’m weak, then I’m strong.

     11 I’ve acted a fool! You forced me to do it. For I thought you would understand, that I’m not at all lesser than these super-apostles, even though I’m no one special either. 12 The signs of a genuine apostle were performed among you with utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works. {To promote the message, not the messengers.}

            πŸŒ™ Matthew 4:12-17

12 - When Jesus heard John (the baptist/baptizer) had been arrested, he withdrew for a while. 13 Then later, after leaving Nazareth (in Galilee) he went and stayed in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali. 14 And so what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah was fulfilled, 15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by way of the sea, beyond River Jordan, and Galilee of the nations, 16 the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light. And for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has shined.”

     17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

MATTHEW 3 11-17

   πŸƒπŸ•Š️12/30 - GospeL Verses πŸƒπŸ•Š️

11 - I (John the Baptizer) baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I. I am not worthy to even carry his sandals. HE, will baptize you with the Holy Spirit! And with fire! 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand! He will clear his threshing floor! And gather his wheat into the barn! But the chaff he will burn away with unquenchable fire!”

     13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan River, to John, to be baptized by him.14 John said, “I need to be baptized by you! And do you come to me?” 15 But Jesus said, “Let it be so for now, for it’s fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented, 16 and when Jesus came up from the water, the heavens were opened to John, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest upon him. 17 And he heard a voice from heaven saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
