11-07 - Mark 14 10-16 1Cor 7 1-7

8TH ‘DAY’ CU Journal, New Testament In A Year

Verses paraphrased due to ©‘s [[ref] {{thots}

          ༺☀️༻ 1 Corinthians 7:1-7

1 - Now about the questions about which you wrote to me: I (Paul) think it’s good for a man to remain single, rather than to marry. 2 But in the world there is the temptation to immorality. [Porneia - fornication (sexual relations between people who are not married to each other - The Amer. Heritage Dictionary). From pernaō - to sell off, properly, a selling off (surrendering) of sexual purity.] So each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.

     3 The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 For the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Likewise the wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband does. 5 Don’t deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer, but then come together again, so Satan may not tempt you to a lack of self control, and you fall prey to unfaithfulness.

     6 Now this is only advice, but I will say, 7 I wish all were as I am. But all have their own blessing from God, some one way and others the other way..

           ༺☾πŸŒŸπ–€“༻ MARK 14:10-16

10 - Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the leaders, the chief priests, in order to betray Jesus to them. 11 And when they heard it, they were glad and promised to give him money. So he then looked for an opportunity to betray him.

     12 And it was the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb [referring to the whole week of Spring holy days, which was called interchangeably, as were the days - Passover and 1st Day of Unleavened Bread. First Day of Unleavened Bread is the actual feast/meal day - remember the days began (begin?) at sunset rather than at midnight. The Passover lamb is sacrificed on Passover, and later, in the dark, after sunset, 1st Day of Unleavened Bread having begun, the meal was eaten, as in the original first Passover in Egypt.]

     His disciples asked him, “Where should we go to prepare for you to eat the Passover?” 13 So he sent two of the disciples on ahead, saying to them, “Go into the city, where you’ll see a man carrying a jar of water. Follow him, 14 and wherever he goes, say to the master of that house, ‘The Teacher says, where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 15 And he will show you a large upper room which is furnished and ready, there make ready for us.” 16 And the disciples set out and went to the city and found it just as he had told them, and they made ready (for) the Passover. [“The” - commentary - in Hebrew, the word for "the" is Χ” (he), which functions similarly to "le" and "la" in French, indicating gender and definiteness. It is used as a prefix attached to nouns.]

Jesus “will draw all” Jn.12:32.
