Intro To Amos

 πŸŒ΄πŸ‘

Verse 1:1 sent me running to a list of commentaries, lol. So I read a few.. And they, plus I’ve read Amos before, have given me the impression Amos, as a prophet (heard from God) was saying the world, of his day, and I figure every day, is very messed up, and sure to be calamitous, but God’s message, and paradise, will reach all the ends of Earth and then rule forever.

JOHN 15 18-27

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

 πŸƒπŸ•Š️reading & study πŸ•Š️πŸƒ

     05/17 - GospeL Verses

18 - “If the world hates you, know it has hated me before it hated you. {So we should try not to hate each other/be divided because of issues of “the world”?} 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. But because you’re not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than their master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours. 21 But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they don’t know he who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty, but now they have no excuse.

23 Whoever hates me hates my Father also.

24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else has done, they would not be guilty, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. 25 But the scripture written in The Law must be fulfilled, ‘They hated me without a cause.’

26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit{/Presence of God} and Truth, which proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. 27 And you disciples of mine will also bear witness [martureΓ³ - testify, give evidence, affirm what one has seen, heard, or experienced] because you have been with me from the beginning.”

1 Corinthians 3 16-23

10/29 ~ From New Testament Letters

        (In the Order Believed Written)

           By Necessity Paraphrased

16 - Do you not know you are God's temple and God's Spirit (Presence) dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys [phtheirΓ³ - destroy, corrupt, spoil, ruin, the root pht literally means  - waste away, degenerate, moving down from a higher level, quality, status to a lower] God's temple [in context, with bad or misleading teaching. Or via Dn.12:11?] God will ruin them! (Imo, cause and effect.) For God's temple is holy [hagios - sacred] and you are that temple. (Each one of us, a stone of that temple.)

18 Let no one deceive theirself. If anyone among you thinks they are wise in this age, let them become a fool, so they may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is folly. For it’s written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness”. (And eviL doers, in their own traps? All in their own natural cause and effect.) 20 And again, it says “The Lord knows the thoughts of the ‘wise’, that they are futile [mataios - vain, empty, useless, groundless, not real].” 21 So let no one boast in man/men (and in the views of “the world”). For all things are yours, 22 whether  Paul or Apollos or Peter, or the world, or life or death, or the present, or the future, it all belongs to you, 23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

"Read and be Blessed!"

The Book of Revelation/Apocalypse is unique in that it opens with a blessing declared for anyone who reads it, hears it and heeds it.. (first chapter, verse three). Then at the end of the book in the last chapter, verse seven, it repeats the blessing.. Makes me think we are supposed to read it and understand it! That we would be blessed to be able to "heed" it...
