06/28 ~ From New Testament Letters
(In the Order Believed Written)
12 - In this way not to be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 13 When God made a promise to Abraham, there’s no one greater by whom to swear, so he swore by his own self and his own name, 14 saying, “Surely - I will bless you, and multiply you.” 15 And so Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise. 16 For people swear by something greater than theirself, and in all their disputes an oath is final. 17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the - unchangeable character - of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath. 18 And so by these two unchangeable things, it’s impossible for God to lie, and having fled to him for refuge, we have strong encouragement, to hold fast to the hope set before us. {He also made the oath “I have sworn by my own name, I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on my word. Every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance [shaba - take an oath, “take a seven”, swear allegiance] to me” Isaiah 45:23.] {Only rational as he is Life, and source of all good things.}
