/10 - GospeL Verses
- Towards evening of that same day (of the resurrection) the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. And the disciples rejoiced when they saw him.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you” and said, “as the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” 22 And then he blew breath and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive any, they’re forgiven, if you withhold forgiveness, it’s withheld.”
Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, wasn’t with them. 25 So later the other disciples told him, “We’ve seen the Lord!” But he said, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and touch the wounds of his hands and side, I’ll never believe.”
After eight days, his disciples were inside again, and this time Thomas was with them. And although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”
Then he said to (doubting) Thomas, “See my wounds, here in my hands, and my side. Touch them and don’t disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said, “Have you believed because you’ve seen? Blessed are those who’ve not seen, and yet they believe.”
