 • Ephesians 5:28-6:3  Luke 16:1-15

            ☀️ Ephesians 5:28-6:3

28 - In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own selves. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For what man hates his own body? Instead he nurtures and cherishes it, as does Christ the church. 30 This is because we are members of his body. {So man and wife is one body, and who mistreats his own body?} 31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall be one.”

     32 This mystery is profound, and what I’m saying, is that it refers to Christ, and the church. 33 However, let each husband love his wife as himself, and let the wife respect her husband.

     6:1 - Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”. This is the first commandment with a promise, 3 “that it may go well with you and you may live long in the land.” {See? The Law/Principles are not done away with, yet even should they be kept perfectly, it would not earn anyone Life. Both Life and redemption/restoration, are gifts. The “handwriting of ordinances against us, which was blotted out, and nailed to the cross” was the legal charges (so to speak) that were against us. We have been pardoned, and declared innocent. One way of thinking about it is the debt was paid. It was no easy dismissal! Not leniency. It was amnesty and a new leaf! Not only relief from a death sentence, but the judge himself has adopted us! And showered us with gifts and blessings.. And more so after this life which is still part school of hard knocks. And “the Law” we must follow is to love God. If we do, we wiLL love and have genuine affection for our fellow person, and will not harm, rob and cheat, etc. Not to be confused with approving of all things done under the sun. To teach that is to shipwreck others, as is “mixing law with grace” and is to pollute temples of God (1Cor.3:11-17) and miss the boat.. until later. Days and foods - see Acts 15:5-31, Romans 14:5-23, and Galatians 4 - are up to individual convictions. “Let us pursue what makes for peace..” Romans 14:19.}

            πŸŒ™ Luke 16:1-15

1 - Jesus taught the disciples, telling them another parable, “There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that he was mismanaging the rich man’s affairs and resources. 2 So he called him in and said, ‘What is this I hear about you? Turn in the management accounts, for I can no longer trust you as manager.’

     3 And the {unjust} manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do? My master is taking the management away from me. I’m not strong enough to dig, and I’m ashamed to beg. 4 I know what I’ll do, so when I’m removed from management, people will welcome me into their homes.’ 5 So, he called his master's debtors one by one, and said to the first, ‘How much do you owe?’ 6 He answered him, ‘I owe your mister’s estate a hundred measures of oil.’ The shrewd {tricky with other’s money meant for upkeep} said to him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly and write fifty.’ {Let’s falsify the books.} 7 Then he called another and said, ‘And how much do you owe the master?’ To which he said, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ So the {bad and dishonest} manager said, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’

     8 The {mortal, worldly} master applauded the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with each other, than the sons of light are. 9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal [aionion/eonian] tents.

   10 One who is faithful in little is also faithful in much. And, one who is dishonest in a little, is also dishonest in much. {Lie once? Oh wolf talking a good talk.} 11 If then you {they} have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?

     12 And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's {oh managers, administrators, human government, etc.} who will grant you that which is your own? 13 And no manager can serve two masters. He will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and - despise - the other. {“If possible even (some of) the elect/genuine will be misled.”} No one can serve {revere} both God and money {and selF interest}.”

     14 The Pharisees, who love money, heard all this, and were scoffing and ridiculing him. 15 But he said to them, “You are those who justify and make much of yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is praised among man is not worth much in the sight of God.
