☀️ Philippians 2:17-30
17 - Even if I (Paul) am being poured out like a sacrificial offering in faith and service, I’m glad and rejoice! 18 And so should you.
19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of how you’re doing. 20 For there’s not many like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare. 21 For all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. {Why Jesus said the gates of hell would not prevail? ..Against ‘the church’/believers as a whole. Hell is spiritual, darkness, and that slow gehenna that “doesn’t quit”, imperfection/entropy.} 22 But you know Timothy's proven worth, how as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel [euaggelion - good news, good message]. 23 I hope therefore to send him just as soon as I see how it will go with me.
24 And I trust in the Lord that shortly I too may come to see you. 25 I’ve thought it necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and soldier, your messenger you sent to help me. 26 For he has been missing you all and has been distressed because you heard he was ill.
27 Indeed he was ill, near to death even. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me as well! Lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. 28 I am the more eager to send him, therefore, that you may rejoice at seeing him again, and I too will be less anxious. 29 Receive him in the Lord with all joy! And honor such men as he, 30 for he nearly died for the work of Christ. And he risked his life to complete what you were unable to yourselves.
π Matthew 21:1-9
(Eyewitness accounts always differ. We are suspicious if they don’t.) 1 - Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples ahead, 2 saying to them, “Go into the village in front of us, and immediately you’ll find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If anyone asks you about it, say, ‘The Lord needs them’. And he’ll send them at once.”
4 This fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet, 5 “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you! Humble, and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”
6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had told them. 7 And they brought the donkey and the colt. They put their cloaks on the colt, and he rode it.
8 Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 And the crowds that went before him, and that followed him, were shouting, “Hosanna! To the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! Hosanna in the highest!”
