8 - Then the voice that I [John] had heard from heaven spoke to me again, “Go, and take the open scroll from the hand of the angel who is standing upon sea and land.”

     9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. And he said, “Take and eat it.” [Katesthíō - from katá - down, and esthíō - eat all the way down] (eat all your food.. the translators favored devour, go figure..) “It will turn your stomach sour (it’s a bitter cup/drink) but ‘in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’” (Prophecy - and the little book of the revelation vision is an intriguing and fascinating study! Riddles needing keys. But, nevertheless, it’s a bitter pill. Yes? The little scroll, separated like this, shows its importance. The key being, an overall key to the littler keys, lol, is “the end” puts it all together. The consummation, the full and mature fruit, consequences, results, tells the whole story. Straying cannot work. God iS life, and he “is perfect”. Self first, dog eat dog cannot work. ‘Parable’ of the decomposing ‘apple’ and its “worm that doesn’t quit”. The decomposing, fading away doesn’t stop ..imperfection is the worm, because God iS life. But, no option to stray in Eden would mean creation as a mere ant farm.)

     10 So I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and I ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.  (Fulfilled just as told.) 11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.” (I.e. the vision/prophecy continues..)

1 - Then I (John) saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. I looked, and I saw he was wrapped in a cloud, and a rainbow was above his head. His face was shining like the sun, and his legs were like mighty pillars of fire. 2 He held a little scroll open in his hand. (Open.. meant to be understood?) And he stood with his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot upon the land. 3 And he called out with a loud voice that was like a lion when he roars. And when he called out, seven thunders sounded. 4 And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said! And do not write it down.” (Daniel 12:9, “Sealed until the time of the end” and as to what the seven thunders said, or are, how couLd they be understood until about the time of the end? Aka, modern capabilities.)  5 And then the angel standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven 6 and he swore by he who lives forever and ever, who created the heavens and all in it, the earth and all in it, and the sea and all that is in it, saying - “There will be no more delay! 7 But in the days of the trumpet call sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God will be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.” (We are currently at 7:1,3 where we’ve been for some decades now.) (Take the vision out of the silly box titled “7yrs only”. It’s a treaty that alas will last only seven years.. The math problem that reveals everything is Daniel 12:11-12, w/ Lk.19:41,44 and 1Cor.3:16.) I post my own studies for those who want to know. But most importantly, God is Love and 10000% trustworthy. And — “Love never fails” 1Cor.13:8.

     FROM a commentary, slightly edited for modern reading - Barnes at biblehub dot com, concerning “fulfilled at the 7th trumpet’s sounding” — is “the setting up of his kingdom, which had been progressively revealed by the prophets. That purpose would be finished, or consummated, in the time when the seventh angel should begin to sound. Then all the mystery would be revealed; the plan would be unfolded; the divine purpose, so long concealed, would be manifested, and the kingdom of the Messiah and of the saints would be set up upon the earth. Under that period” (NOTE, mine: the period being “the” millennium, aNd, the following GWT judgment ‘day’ - they being the Day of the LORD, the long second advent of king of the earth Jesus, which is bookmarked by two huge fiery events, 2Pet.3:10/2Thes.1:7-8 and 2Pet.3:12-13. The two fiery events being the armageddon battle, Is.24:20, and the “fiery” “palingenesis” or that is, the again-genesis of Rev.21:1-5. It’s during the whole period in between that) “the affairs of the world will be ultimately wound up, and the whole work of redemption completed.” (Rev.20-but described like describing the crests of waves without describing the in between.)

8 Then the voice from heaven spoke to me (John) again, “Go and take the open scroll from the hand of the angel who is standing on sea and land.” 9 When I went over to ask the angel for the little scroll, the angel said, "Take the scroll and eat it! Your stomach will turn sour, but the taste in your mouth will be sweet as honey." (From a commentary - when this ‘little’ book of prophecy is fully digested, it’s troubling.) 10 I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour. 11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy, again, about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.” (The revelation vision concerning this world, as is, is actually told three times, from different angles. Chapter 10 is an insert, as 12 is, and perhaps 11 — The Three Tellings: 6:1-2 to 11:19 - ch.12 w/ mt.23:39 - 13:1 to 19:11.)
