           ☀️ Romans 10:11-15

11 - For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be shamed.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek {between hebrew and former practicing pagan} for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call upon him. 13 For “everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord is saved.”

     14 How then will someone call upon him, if they don’t believe he is? And how can they believe he is, if they’ve never heard of him? And how are they to hear without someone telling them? 15 And how are they to tell it, unless they’re sent? As it’s written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who tell the GOOD news!” {Father in heaven “is Perfect” Mt.5:48 - 100% good news.}

            🌙 Matthew 14:1-14

[To be tetrarch was to be a leader/ruler over a fourth part of a region - tetra, a fourth, and arch, ruler.] At about that time, Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus, 2 and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist! He’s been raised from the dead! This is why these miracles are happening.” 3 For Herod had seized John, chained him and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, 4 because John had said to him, “It’s not lawful for you to have her.” {I read both Herod and Philip were Herodias’ uncles.} 5 And though he wanted to put him to death (previously having listened to him) he feared the people, because they held him as a prophet. {Herod was a son of Herod the Great, and was a Hebrew.} 6 But when Herod's birthday came around, the daughter of Herodias danced before the company and pleased Herod, 7 so much so that he promised, with an oath, to give her whatever she might ask. 8 So she asked her mother what she should ask for. And Herodias said “Ask for the head of John the Baptist to be brought to us on a platter!”

     9 The king was sorry when he heard it, but because of his oath and his guests who heard it, he commanded it to be done. 10 And sent and had John beheaded in the prison. 11 And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.

     12 John’s disciples came and took the body and buried it, and then they went and told Jesus what had happened. (Mary, though much younger, was a relative of Elizabeth, John’s mother. So Jesus and John were related. John was six months older than Jesus.)

     13 And when Jesus was told, he withdrew from there by boat to go to a lonely place by himself. But when the crowds heard of it, they hurriedly followed on foot from all the towns.

     14 And when he came to shore he saw a great crowd and felt compassion for them. And all their sick [árrhōstos - from A - not, and rhṓnnymi - leave, depart; properly, a persisting illness – literally "that will not leave" chronic ill-health] he healed.

☀️ 1 - I (Paul) didn’t want to make another painful visit. 2 For if I cause you (Corinthian believers/followers) pain, who then is there to make me happy but the one I pained? 3 And I wrote to you as I did, so when I’m there, I won’t have sorrow over those from whom I ought to have joy! And so all of you will have the same joy that I have. 4 For when I wrote to you, it was out of much affliction and anguish of heart, and even with tears. Not to cause you pain, but to let you know of the abundant love I have for you. {Corinth was a large “pagan” city with strong pagan habits.. like temple prostitutes or such. Persons as commodity?}

     5 Now if anyone has caused pain, they’ve caused it - not to me, except in some measure, and not to put it too severely - but to all of you! 6 Now for that one, the disapproval and censure by the majority is enough. {Had done its job, he had been sleeping with his father’s wife.} 7 So now you should forgive and comfort, or he may be harmed. 8 So I beg you to reaffirm your love and acceptance. 9 For this is why I wrote, to find out if you are able to stay {in the message} and walk in the way.
