Matthew 27:1-10

 πŸƒπŸ•Š️11/26 - GospeL Verses πŸƒπŸ•Š️

1 - When morning came, all the chief priests and leaders of the people took counsel together, against Jesus, to have him put to death. 2 And they bound him and led him away to Pilate the governor.

     3 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief leaders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood!” They said, “What is that to us?” 5 And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, Judas departed, and went out and hung himself.

     6 The chief priests said, “It’s not lawful to put the silver into the treasury, since it’s blood money.” 7 So they talked it over and with it bought the potter's field as a burial place for strangers. (A field of a potter’s throwaway broken pottery pieces. Metaphor - all us broken vessels/pottery, bought with 30 pieces of silver.) 8 And so that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day. 9 Then was fulfilled what was spoken [long ago] by the prophet Jeremiah - “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of he, on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel, 10 and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord directed.” {“Christ Crucified” is a strong enough message and image to reach even the very guiltiest of humanity ..think despots.. serial killers..  and ultimately their heart and gut wrenching remorse.. Able to reach all, not onLy those blessed enough to live upon a mountaintop spending their days in glorious contemplations and prayers..}
