LUKE 3 7-14

7 - John {cousin or second cousin to Jesus? Lk.1:36} said to the crowds that came out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?!” {I’ve always thought this was said when the leaders, the Pharisees, etc got there(?) But, it says “to the crowds” .. “The poison of snakes is under our tongues!”}

     8 “Bear fruits in keeping with repentance! And don’t even begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham! 9 Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees! Every tree that doesn’t bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire!” {NoT an unfruitful or damaged tree into an ‘everlasting’ afterlife fire.. But think 70 CE.. cause and effect, no shield of God’s Spirit/Presence, add in how much the wolf hates and craves to destroy..}

     10 And the crowds asked him, “What then shall we do?!” 11 And he answered, “Whoever has two tunics, share with the one who has none, and whoever has food, do likewise.” {This is not via mankind government to the point of communism utopia which alas has always been anything but. This is our neighbor, and family, friends, acquaintances. And charitable gifts. Real life, not modern life’s political cubicles? Prone to mostly missing the mark due to bound to occur waste and misuse? Siphoning for political strengthening causes?}

     12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized and said, “Teacher, what shall we do?” 13 And he told them, “Collect no more than you’re supposed to.” 14 Soldiers also asked him, “And we, what shall we do?” He said, “Don’t extort money from anyone by threats or false accusation. And be content with your wages.”

GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 23:29-39

29 - (Jesus continues) - “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees! Hypocrites! Actors! You build the tombs of the prophets, and decorate the monuments of the righteous 30 saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in killing the prophets.’ 31 And so you witness against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 So fill up, then, the full measure! 33 You serpents! Brood of vipers, how are you to escape gehenna judgment? (Fiery judgment of 70ad.) 34 And so I will send [apostelló - commission, send] to you prophets [prophétés - a prophet, interpreter or forth-teller of the divine will, a prophet, a poet, a person gifted at expositing divine truth, one who speaks forth by the inspiration of God, from pro - before, and phēmí - elevating/asserting one idea over another, especially by speaking; prophēteia - prophecy] and wise [sophos - skilled, wise, translated wise men] and scribes. Some you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in the public places [sunagógé - a bringing together, by extension an assembling, or a synagogue — but not necessarily] and you will  persecute them from town to town. 35 So that upon you may be reckoned all the righteous blood shed upon earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36 Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.” (Revelation 17:5 says “Mystery Babylon the Great” is responsible for all slain - ‘Mystery Babble’ - all confusion, surely? And wanting to dominate? Empire.. Towers.. “All your high towers will fall” Is.2:15, “Come out of her my people”.. Rev.18:4) (These pretenders murdered the Son of God, sent from the Father, who they claimed to be their God. Pretenders, play-actors. The adversary/Satan (&co.) always plot, infiltrate.. hijack, confiscate, stage-play. Always LooK behind the scenes?)

     37 “Oh Jerusalem! Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to you! How often I longed to gather your children like a hen gathers her chicks beneath her wings, but you were not willing! (The state of humanity, during life as we presently know it, this all important contrast.) 38 See, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I say to you, you (Jerusalem) will not see me agaiN, untiL you (Jerusalem) say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD.’” (Rev.7:9,4)

                  ~ 1 Timothy 4:1-8 ~

1 - Now the Spirit of God specifically says, in later times some will depart from the faith by listening to deceitful spirits and teachings [didaskalia - instruction, information, teachings] of demons [daimonion - evil-spirit, demon, heathen deity] 2 through the insincerity [hupokrisis - a reply, answer, playacting, hypocrisy, stage playing] of liars [pseudologos - speaking lies; a liar passing on false conclusions because working with false premises] whose consciences are seared [kautériazó] 3 (in Paul’s day) forbidding marriage and requiring abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good (including marriage) and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is sanctified/purified by the word of God and prayer. (A prayer of thanks blesses/purifies the food.)

     6 If you put these things before the brothers [adelphos - brethren, brothers and sisters, fellow persons] you will be a good worker for Christ Jesus, having been trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you are following. 7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths! Rather train yourself for godliness. (The upward progress of the fruits of the Spirit/Presence of God. And understanding Truth?) 8 For while bodily training [gymnasía] is profitable, godliness (of character) is of greater value in every way. As it holds promise for present life and of the Life which is coming.
