Revelation - 8:1-6

               a paraphrased study                      

1 - Now when the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. {A turning point, turning of a page (a note from 2024’s reading/study).}

     2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets. {Same angels as the angels of the seven churches?} 3 Another angel came, and stood at the altar having a golden censer. Then much incense was given to him. Incense, to offer with the prayers of all the saints upon the gold altar that is before the throne.

     4 And the smoke of the incense, mingled with the prayers of the saints [believers/followers] rose up before God. {Still in the pause - long to us - between the first seal 6 event and the next one (leaving 5 at ‘the end’/culmination, Is.24:20/Rev.10:4).}

     5 Then the angel took the censer, and he filled it with fire from the altar and he threw it upon the earth! And there were *peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake**! 6 And now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared theirselves to blow their trumpets. [The 7th seal is the seven trumpets.]

     {**#2 of 7? #1 was the 1st of 6:12-17. Chapter 6 is the elements of the times described as their full effects, first to very last, and blended into a sort of swirl, especially seal 6. The full descriptions (first to very last) of the elements of the times, given at the BEGINNING of the vision, veils much of the vision.}

Revelation 21 4-9

             Paraphrased      

[A voice from the midst of the throne continues.] - 4 - “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death is no more, nor mourning, nor crying, nor pain, for the former has passed away.” 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I make all new.” [All - pas - every, all, the whole]. And he said to me (John), “Write for these words are faithful, and they are true.

     6 It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning — and the end. To the one thirsting, I will give from the spring of the water of life freely. {Now.} 7 And they who overcome will inherit all and I will be their God and they will be my sons and daughters. 8 But” {I think of this as narrative spoken outside of the vision} “as for the cowardly, the faithless {now, and still at Jesus’ appearing} the having become abominable, the murderers, and sexually immoral, and sorcerers [pharmakos], idolaters, and the liars, their portion is in the lake burning [kaió - kindled, set fire to] with fire and sulfur which is the second death.” {First death through Adam, second, the death of death? And of imperfection/entropy. The armageddon lake, the death of empire.. half done.. Or one third done, as there are the three mentions of lake of fire, at Armageddon, at the adversary’s fiery final defeat, and at the fiery Regeneration/Regenesis (Greek word, palin/again-genesis. ..Interesting, death of empire, death of the adversary, which both belong to death, so all wound up in the death of death. All of it the second (and final) death. Per God’s plan who saw all possibilities from the beginning.} {Armageddon, and the entire apocalypse is man done, not God done except he created a cause and effect universe (as opposed to an ant farm?)}

     9 Then came to me one of the seven angels having the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues [plégé - a blow, stripe, wound; an affliction, plague] and he said to me, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

[A loud voice from the throne continues] - 4 - He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no longer, nor mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former has passed away.” 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all new.” [All - pas - every, all]. And he said, “Write, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the one thirsting, I will give from the spring [pégé - fountain, spring, well, issue, flow] of the water of life freely. 7 The one who overcomes will inherit all and I will be his God and he will be my son [hyiós - descendant, “son” equally refers to female believers—Gal 3:28]. (Do you think God cursed wo-man? Or man? He was prophesying.) 8 But (John) as for the cowardly, the faithless, the having become abominable, and murderers, and the sexually immoral, and sorcerers, idolaters, and the liars, their portion [meros - a part, share, portion, a part due or assigned to one, to appoint one his lot, lot, destiny assigned to one] (Imo, part to play, role) is in the lake [limné - a lake, from limen - through the idea of nearness of shore, a pond large or small] burning [kaió - to kindle, burn, set fire to, light, in figurative discourse a light, torch showing the way] with fire and sulfur [theion - neuter of theios - divine, in its original sense of flashing, brimstone, sulphur] which is the second death.”

📜🗞️ The revelation vision is told 3 times: 6:1-2 to 11:19; chap.12 w/ Mt.23:39; and 13:1 to 19:11.

Jesus’ brief first advent perfectly fulfilled the ancient Spring Holy Days, more perfectly than is easily seen. So logically his long second advent will fulfill the Autumn Holy Days, their names and pattern:

  TRUMPETS (of Rev, return at 7th during the concurrent bowls) - 10days/1000yrs - to ‘DAY’ oF ATONEMENT - 5days/500yrs - to TABERNACLES — a fiery regenesis, “All new.. God will now tabernacle with mankind” Rev.21:1-5.
