12-23 - Luke 2 8-20

πŸ—️’s to riddles, N.T. in a yr study, verses paraphrased Logic [ ] references { } thots

☀️ 8 - And that night, nearby, there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their sheep. 9 When suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared to them. And the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were marveling and they were afraid. 10 But the angel said, “Don’t be afraid! For listen, I bring you good news! News of great joy that will be for all people. {Good news for all!} 11 For unto you is born, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

12 And this will be a sign for you, you’ll find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” (In a feeding trough.)

     13 And suddenly! There was a multitude of angels, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest! And on earth peace and goodwill.” {It’s coming, why delay joining?}

15 After the angels left, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go into Bethlehem and see this thing that’s happened! And which the LORD has made known to us!” 16 And they went with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and they saw the baby lying in a manger. 17 And they told them all they had been told concerning the child. 18 And all who heard it wondered.

19 But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned to the field, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them by the angel.

Ephesians 4 11-16

03/28 ~ From New Testament Letters

πŸ•Š️ (In the Order Believed Written)

        Paul’s Letter To The Ephesians

                    (paraphrased)

11 - And he gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints/believers for the work of building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity. That is, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. 14 That we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by waves and different winds of doctrine. Or by human schemes of craftiness, 15 but speaking the truth in love, will bring increase, in every way, into Christ, who is the head of us, the body of believers. 16 From him the whole body, is joined and fitted together by every joint with which it’s equipped, so that when each part is working properly, the body grows, building itself up in love.

GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 2:1-12

1 - Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, wise men from the east arrived at Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and we have come to worship him.” 3 Now when Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him (or else?) 4 and assembling the chief priests and scribes of Judea, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. 5 And they told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so is it written by the prophet, 6 ‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah. For from you shall come the one who will shepherd my people Israel.’”

7 Then Herod summoned the wise men in secret, and asked them what time the star had first appeared. 8 Then he said to them, “Go and look diligently for the child, and when you’ve found him, send me word, so I too may come and worship him.” 9 After listening to the him, the wise men went on their way. And behold, the star they had seen at its rising, went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. 10 And when they saw the star, they rejoiced greatly, with exceeding joy. 11 And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 But being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way.

                ~ Hebrews 5:10-14 ~

10 - About Jesus, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek - 11 we have much to say, which is hard to explain, as the hearing has become dull. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need to be taught again the basic principles of the message of God, needing milk, not solid food.13 For everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness (and rightness) since he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained - by constant practice - to distinguish between good from evil. (True and not true.)

GospeL Verses ~ Luke 2:8-20

8 - Not too far away there were shepherds in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the LORD appeared to them, and the glory of the LORD shone around them, and they were filled with fear and wonder. 10 The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Behold, I bring you good news. News of great joy! Which is for all people! 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior - Christ the Lord. 12 And this is what tonlook for - you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger [a feeding trough].” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest! And on earth peace with man (God’s) good pleasure!”

15 When the angels were gone, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened! Which the LORD has made known to us.” 16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. 17 And then they told what the angel had said to them concerning the child. 18 And all who heard it wondered. 19 But Mary pondered these things and stored them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned to the field, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, and how it had been just as they had been told.

                ~ Hebrews 5:5-9 ~

5 - So also Christ (like Aaron and the Levites)  didn’t make himself a high priest, but was appointed by he who had said to him, “You are my Son, today have I begotten you”. 6 As he said also at another time, “You are a priest - forever - after the order of Melchizedek.” 7 And in the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with strong cries and tears, to he who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence and honor/respect. 8 And although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. 9 And being proved perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.
