06-25 - From Heb-5 Mt-2

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

Hebrews 5:10-14  Matthew 2:1-12 and ACTS 4:1-22 separately

             ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 5:10-14

10 - So Jesus being designated and declared by God, a high priest after the order of Melchizedek, 11 about this we have much to say, which is hard to explain, since you’ve become dull of hearing! {Melchizedek seeming to be “a priest forever” confirms Jesus’ pre-existence with God. He being “forever first” (proto) and onLy straight out from God one.}

12 By this time you ought to be teachers! But you need someone to teach you again the primary, basic and beginning principles of the message of God. You still need milk, and not solid food.

13 Everyone living on milk lacks skill in the message of righteousness and justice [dikaiosunΓ© - righteousness, justice] since they are still but a child.

14 But solid food is for the mature. For those having sharpened their powers of discernment, by the constant practice of distinguishing good from evil.

[Good & evil - KALOS - good, beautiful, noble, excellent, honest, honorable, beneficial, tends toward life; and KAKOS - bad, evil, wicked, harmful, noisome, injurious; from root kakΓa - inner malice,  compromised, as in the "rot is already in the wood"]. {Imperfection/entropy/decay/corruption.. hamartia - “missing the mark” translated sin. Imperfect is an abyss of potential (Rev.9:2). God is Life, and “is Perfect”. Perfect is the final Word of everything. But there’s the matter of at least some power of choice is included in being able to think and reason. God as Life lives through and experiences all things that occur.. and endowed thinking and reasoning to man and angel anyway.. Engineered it so the drama is a one and done.

“In spite of ourselves, we’ll wind up a sittin’ on a rainbow.. In spite of ourselves..” John Prine.. “nothin’ but big ole hearts shining in our eyes..”

            πŸŒ™ P.M. Matthew 2:1-12

1 - After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of king Herod the Great, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is he who’s been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and we’ve come to worship him.”

3 Now when Herod (a Hebrew/Jew) heard this, he was vexed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 So assembling the leaders of the people, the chief priests and scribes, he questioned them where the Christ was prophesied to be born. 5 They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet, 6 ‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah. For from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’”

7 Then Herod secretly having called the wise men inquired of them what time the star had appeared. 8 And he sent them on to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you’ve found him, bring me word, so I too may come and worship him.”

9 After this, the wise men {astronomer, astrologers} went on their way. And behold, the star they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. 10 And when they saw it, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. 11 And going inside, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they knelt and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And then warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way.

06-23 - From Heb-5 Lk-2

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

Hebrews 5:1-4  Luke 2:1-7

           ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 5:1-4

1 - In the earthly priesthood, every high priest from among men is appointed to act on behalf of the people in their relation to God. They offered gifts and sacrifices for sins. {The human psyche and conscience fears God. It’s not God who “is Love”, that needs to be appeased. There wAs the atonement, no doubt! Also called a ransom. And salvation/safety.}

2 A priest can deal gently with the unknowing and wayward, since he himself has human weakness [astheneia - weakness, disease, infirmity, sickness, frailty, dependence, infirmity that causes inability to pursue or do what they would like to; from asthenes - “a” not, and sthenes - strength - without strength]. 3 So the {earthly} priest has to offer sacrifice for their own sin [hamartia - missing the mark] just as for those of the people. {Ps.40:6 - “sacrifice and offering you do not want”. Sacrifices for and on behalf of the people.} 4 And no one takes this honor for their self {of being a priest for the people} but only when called by God, as Moses’ brother Aaron was.

            πŸŒ™ P.M. Luke 2:1-7

1 - In those days Caesar Augustus sent out a decree that all the world should be registered. 2 This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And all went to be registered, each to their own hometown. 4 So Joseph went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David. 5 He went to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.

6 And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7 And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger (feeding trough) because there was no room for them in the inn.

MATTHEW 2 13-23

     06/27 - GospeL Verses

13 - Now when the wise men from the east had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” {Rev.12:4, the chapter being the middle telling of three tellings of the revelation vision, but verse 17 needs Mt.23:39. The other two tellings are 6:1-2 to 11:19 and 13:1 to 19:11. Then the three rejoin at the seventh trumpet’s sounding. In chapter six is the first veiling.. but once we know it’s there? It’s a riddle! Veils the entire vision, but especially the sixth seal and chapter seven.}

14 So he rose and took the child and his mother by night and went to Egypt 15 and they stayed there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the LORD had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called my Son.”

16 Then Herod (the Great) when he saw he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and had killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all the region around, who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, 18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children, she refused to be comforted, because they are no more.” [Ramah is the hill overlooking Bethlehem where Rachel was buried.]

19 Now when Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child's life are dead.” 21 And he rose and took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee. 23 And they lived in a city called Nazareth, so what was spoken by the prophets was fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.

8 - Not far away that same night, there were shepherds in the field, keeping watch over their flock, 9 when an angel of the Lord appeared to them. The glory of the Lord was shining brightly about them, and the shepherds were filled with great fear and wonder. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for listen, I bring you good news, of great joy, that will be for all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you, you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger” (in a feeding trough). 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest! And his delight, peace on Earth among men!”

15 When the angels left, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this which the LORD has made known to us!” 16 And they went with haste, and they found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. 17 And when they saw it, they told all they had heard concerning the child. 18 And all who heard it wondered. 19 But Mary treasured up these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them by the angel.

10 - About Jesus, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek - 11 we have much to say, which is hard to explain, as the hearing has become dull. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need to be taught again the basic principles of the message of God, needing milk, not solid food.13 For everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness (and rightness) since he is an infant. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained - by constant practice - to distinguish between good from evil. 12 - Since we have such a hope [elpis - expectation, hope, trust, confidence] we are very bold! 13 Not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people might not gaze at the radiance that was fading away, that was coming to an end. 14 But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains, because it’s only through Christ that it is taken away. 15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. (A heart /mind connection?)16 But when we turn to the LORD, the veil is removed. 17 Now the LORD is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the LORD is, there’s freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, gazing at the LORD, are being transformed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another. And it comes from the LORD who is the Spirit.

Three Things To Prepare For Part One

A  STORY (Rev 12)

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman... being in labor to give birth..

[cross-ref - The Lord God then asked the woman, “What have you done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” And Jehovah God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed [art] thou above all cattle and every beast of the field: upon your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her-seed, He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” [Genesis 3:13-15]

[cross-ref - Therefore the Lord Himself gives you a sign, behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel, which means, “God with us”. [Isaiah 7:14]

...And there was seen another sign in the heaven, lo, a great red dragon.. stood before the woman to devour her Child as soon as it was born..

[cross-ref - When Herod saw that he had been tricked by the magi, he became enraged, and sent and slew all the male children who were in Bethlehem and all its vicinity, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the magi. [Matthew 2:16]

And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to shepherd all the nations with a rod of iron ..the son was caught up to God and His throne ..

[cross-ref  - And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. [Matthew 1:21]

[cross-ref  - I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, "You are My Son, today I have begotten You, ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. Thou dost rule them with a sceptre of iron, As a vessel of a potter You shall shatter them like dishes of clay." [Psalm 2:7-9]

[cross-ref - The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek,” the Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. [Psalm 110:4,5]

[cross-ref - The Lord says to my Lord: "Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” [Psalm 110:1]

[cross-ref - So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. [Mark 16:19]

[cross-ref - In many parts, and many ways, God of old having spoken to the fathers in the prophets, in these last days did speak to us in a Son, heir of all things, through whom also He did make the ages.. ..when He had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. [Hebrews 1:1,3]

[cross-ref - Jesus said to him, “..hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” [Matthew 26:64]

[cross-ref - Then Stephen said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” [Acts 7:56]

[cross-ref - ..where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. [Colossians 3:1]

And the woman did flee to the wilderness #1. And there came war in the heaven; Michael and his messengers did war against the dragon, and the dragon did war, and his messengers, and they did not prevail, nor was their place found any more in the heaven; and the great dragon was cast forth -- the old serpent, who is called "Devil," and "the Adversary," who is leading astray the whole world -- he was cast forth to the earth, and his messengers were cast forth with him.. And he pursued and persecuted the woman who had given birth to a son..

[cross-ref - For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us.. [Isaiah 9:6]

[cross-ref? - ...tortured.. and others ...mockings and scourgings did receive trial.. and imprisonment.. sawn asunder, they were tried..  [Hebrews 11:35-37 w/ Rev 13:2]

...but she was given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly (sail?) from the serpent into the wilderness, to her place #2, where she is nourished a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. Then from his mouth the serpent poured water like a river after the woman, to sweep her away with the flood, and the land did help the woman, and the land did open its mouth and did swallow up the river, that the dragon did cast forth out of his mouth.

[cross-ref - And as they led Him away, having taken hold on Simon, a certain Cyrenian, coming from the field, they put on him the cross, to bear it behind Jesus.. Jesus turned to the women and said: "Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, for, lo, days do come, in which they shall say, Happy the barren and.. to the mountains, fall on us, and to the hills, cover us; for if they do these things when the tree is green, what will be done in the dry?” (Joel's smoky day? aka, drought)  [Luke 23:26-31]

So the dragon was enraged and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, those keeping the commands of God, and having the testimony of Jesus (by now?)

[cross-ref - (Jesus' Lament over Jerusalem) - O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord'! [Matthew 23:37,39]

[cross-ref - ..the spirits of demons, doing signs -- which go forth to every king on earth, to bring them together for a war against God All-Powerful, to the battle of that great day of God the Almighty.. And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. [Revelation 16:14,16]

What Is Life? Where Are We From? Where Are We Going?

As for me, I have always had a very strong desire to know truth, utter truth, and nothing but the truth. What is life? Where do we come from? Or did come from? ..what is life? and also where, if anywhere, are we headed? So I started my search at a bunch of very good libraries all around Denver, Colorado (USA) where I was living at the time. I studied some on the world religions, meditation and astrology. Astrology, as to co-incidental figurations in the stars, planets and sun and moon at the time of certain occurrences in the world, or in this case, in my life.. I could go into those and a couple are very, very striking! But that might be another story.. I was learning how to meditate which in this case was how to still one's mind quiet enough one could 'hear' God's voice. The main way of doing that, for me, was to hold an image in my mind, with eyes closed, of an eight pointed radiant star, representing to me all that I had been studying, and I later learned it is the star most shown at Christmas as the Bethlehem star.. basically a star of light which rays are a cross and an x.
 - One day I was in the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains sitting at the side of a hill on a sunny day, when all of a sudden, it seemed as though I could 'see' a thought drift across the very blue sky and hit me in the head! Yes, it hit me in the head. And what the thought said was "you've been studying about different forces at work in the universe, what of the force which created the universe and what if that thought has consciousness?" Then it was like a bright light dawned (like a light bulb turning on as they say when you realize something or put something together) and I exclaimed "God!" and it seemed as though I could feel a strong presence, but one I realized I had always known..
- My life completely changed after that day. It got to be when I was in the foothills or nature, I was happy, could feel His Presence, but anywhere else and He was absent! Which made me feel incomplete and out of sorts, til one day I found a Bible tract at my local post office (I met the lady later who was in the habit of leaving them around town). The tract was titled in large letters "God's Great Plan of Salvation".
 - Well, I'll tell ya, I read that thing 4 times and just could not get a handle on it! Something about being imperfect, which leads to death, aka nonlife. I've later learned God himself is Life and Perfection, but endowed thinking ability which includes being able to make choices, but any move away from what God thinks or does, is to become imperfect, the opposite of life. (If you get my drift..?)
- The tract said if I asked Jesus into my heart I would be "saved" (rescued, my journey toward nonlife checked) by Jesus paying the price of my death for me (and everyone else's).
- It was very unusual, but I was home alone that day, so four times I came out of my room where I had knelt at the side of my bed and said that salvation prayer, but came away sort of unbelieving, not that necessarily I didn't believe its message, but could it be true for me? So that's what I asked. And then the sun was setting over the mountains in the west and the sunlight from it came streaming through an inch of open curtain and shone across the room filling the off tv screen with a radiant eight pointed star. As miracles go, it may be small, but ever since then I've had no doubt.
- That was 33 years ago. And 17 years ago my son asked me two questions, which I answered but I wasn't at all happy with my answers so I prayed for the answers, and they came back to me "boom! boom! boom!" and knocked my socks off! And my socks are still knocked off! The questions were "why did God put the tree of good and evil in the garden" (the tree of knowing good and evil) and "isn't it nice we get to be an ant farm?" (So Cynical for one only 16 at the time!)
 - What I found out was that's the whole thing, we're not an ant farm! The whole 'packet' or 'cloud'(?) of information ended with a question to me! "Why did God wait such a very long time, and only create the universe and man and woman, not only after the first bound to occur rebel thought had occurred (as it did in Lucifer high angel) but after it had fully matured into outright sedition and trickery?"
 - So now I keep a blog where I go into these things I learned, mainly that God is Life and is Perfect and Perfection makes no mistakes, therefor the 'end' result of all this can only be the best one possible.. think of it, God being life, lives through, experiences, and suffers, all sufferings which ever occur! Why would He put Himself through all that? Because He's not creating an ant farm, or robots, but His family and an eternally un-breakable paradise, un-breakable, for all will fully understand good from evil / life from death / true from untrue.
