            ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 1:1-4 

1 - Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke by the prophets. 2 But in these days he’s spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all. [Pas - all, every, the whole.] Through whom also, he created the ages [aions]. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory, the exact representation of His being, and sustaining all things by the power of the word [rhéma - word, saying, utterance, matters]. {Thy word is Truth, Jn.17:17. Truth is the only enduring pattern.}

     Through himself he provided purification for sins. {Purifying the conscience, so we are free to be reconciled/friends with God, and fully his, in heart and mind.} He then sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high [hupsélos - high, lofty, exalted] 4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

36 - They were still talking about these things (how Peter saw him, and how the two while on their way to Emmaus saw and spoke with him) when Jesus himself stood among them, and said, “Peace to you.”

     37 But they were startled. And frightened, and thought they were seeing a ghost.

     38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why is there doubt in your hearts? 39 See my hands and feet, that it’s I myself. Touch me, and see.

     For a ghost doesn’t have flesh and bones - as you see, I have.”

     40 And he showed them his hands and feet. 41 And while they still could hardly believe for joy and were marveling, he said, “Have you anything to eat?” 42 So they gave him a broiled fish, 43 and he ate it.

     44 Then he said, “These are my words I spoke to you while I was still with you - that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Psalms, and written by the Prophets is to be fulfilled.”

     45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scripture, 46 and he said, “And so it’s written - that Messiah/the Christ would suffer, and on the third day would rise from the dead [nekros - dead, deceased]. 47 And that repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed in his name [onoma - name, authority, cause] to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem. 48 And you’re witnesses of these things.”

            ☀️ 1 Timothy 4:1-8

1 - Now the Spirit has clearly said in times to come some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to misleading spirits and the teachings of demons. 2 And through fraudulent liars whose consciences are seared, 3 who deny marriage and require laws about foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is made holy - by the word of God and prayer.

     6 If you put these things before the brothers and sisters, Timothy, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.

     7 Avoid silly myths. Rather pursue godliness, 8 for while bodily training is of some value, training in godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life {life as we presently know it} and for the coming life {life as it shall be}.

29 - “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees! Pretenders! For you build the tombs of the prophets and you decorate the monuments of the righteous, 30 saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have joined them in shedding the blood of the prophets!’

     31 Thus you witness against yourselves, that you’re sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. 33 You serpents! And brood of vipers! How will you flee the justice of gehenna?” {This slow gehenna crucible - entropy, “which does noT quit”.}

     34 “Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog and persecute from town to town.” {Like Saul/Paul did!!} 35 “So that on you may come all the righteous blood shed upon earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, who you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36 Truly, I tell you, all will come upon this generation {70 CE}.

     37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it!” {‘Micro’ example of the macro Truth. We aLL like sheep have gone astray”. And ’Micro’ fulfillment of prophecy, the effects of cause and effect, God’s wrath/from greek, orge/passion. As opposed to humanity as a mere ant farm?}

     “How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 See, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I tell you - you will not see me again - untiL you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD.’” {Cross references: Rev.7:9,4 and 12:17, chapter 12 as the middle of three tellings of the revelation vision, which rejoin at the sounding of the 7th trumpet.}

            ☀️ Romans 6:17-23

17 - But thanks be to God! That you/we who were once in captivity to sin [hamartia - missing the mark] and were its slave, have become obedient, from the heart, to the teaching we’ve been entrusted with. 18 And having been set free, we are now ruled by righteousness. [Dikaiosýnē - righteousness, justice, equity, rightness] {of character; justice and equity in society and system, begins with character.}

     19 I (Paul) am speaking in human terms, because of our natural limitations. Once we presented ourselves as slaves to impurity {not-rightness} [akatharsía - from the greek - A - not, and - katharós - state of clean because unmixed, pure, not contaminated; katharis, is the root of cathartic]. And we were in captivity to lawlessness, which led to more lawlessness.

     But now, present yourselves as bonded to righteousness, which leads to sanctification [hagiasmos - “the process of advancing in holiness, used of the believer being progressively transformed into the Lord’s likeness of nature; consecration, purification, made sacred].

     20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 But what fruit {cause and effect} were you getting from it? With the end of those things being death. 22 But now that you have been set free from sin {and guilt or shame} and are united with God and belong to him, the fruit is sanctification and the result is enduring life. {God is Life and “is perfect” so imperfect is entropy which “does not quit”, a slow gehenna that “is not put out”.} 23 For the wages {result} of sin [hamartia - missing the mark] is death. But the free gift of God is enduring life - in - Christ Jesus, our Lord. {He is “the head” of the body of humanity. Especially of believers, and shall be of all humanity. Isaiah 14:27 - “For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who can annul it?”}

“Truly, I tell you” Jesus continued, “among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist. We sang a dirge, but you didn’t mourn.’ 18 For John comes neither eating or drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man comes eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified of all its works.” [Its - autos - he, she, it, they, them, himself, herself, itself, themselves, same.] {Wisdom shall be proven to be fully just. 22 - Then it seemed good to the apostles and elders, and the rest of the church, to choose men from among them and to send them back to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They sent Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading ones among the believers. 23 And they sent with them the following letter: “The believers, the apostles and the elders of Jerusalem, to the believers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia, greetings! 24 We’ve heard some came to you as from us and have troubled you with their teachings, unsettling your minds. We didn’t send them, nor did we give them any such instruction.

     25 So it has seemed good to us, having come to an agreement about the matter, to choose men and send them to you along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the sake of our Lord Jesus. 27 Among them is Judas and Silas, who will tell you the same things as this letter.

     28 It has seemed good to the Holy Spirit {Presence of God} and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: 29 that you (non Hebrew believers) abstain from the things sacrificed to idols, from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.” 

     30 And when they were sent on their way, they went down to Antioch, gathered the group [pléthos - company, multitude] together and delivered the letter. 31 And after it was read, they rejoiced at its encouragement. 32 Judas and Silas, who were themselves prophets, encouraged and strengthened the believers with many words. 33 And after they had spent some time, they were sent off in peace back to those who had sent them. 35 But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

     36 And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s go back and visit the believers in every city where we proclaimed the teaching, and see how they’re doing.” 37 Now Barnabas wanted to take with them John Mark. 38 But Paul disagreed because he had turned back from the work the first time. 39 And they disagreed so sharply that they separated. Barnabas and Mark sailed to Cyprus. 40 And then Silas joined Paul. After they were prayed for by the church, and given over to the grace of the Lord, 41 they began going through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches/believers. {As of yet there were no brick and mortar churches, the believers met mostly in one another’s homes.}

            ☀️ Romans 1:24-32

24 - So then God gave them (humanity) up to go the way they wanted {versus the other option? an ant farm?} to impurity, and to dishonoring their bodies among theirselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood. And they reverenced and served the created, rather than the one having created - who is blessed to the ages, amen!

     26 So he gave them up to passions of dishonor. For the women exchanged the natural into that which is contrary to nature. 27 And the men gave up natural relations with women and were inflamed with passion for one another, male committing shameless acts with male and receiving in themselves the recompense {effects} of their error. 28 And since they didn’t approve of having knowledge of God, he let them go into a counterfeit and unfit mind to do what is not proper. 29 And man [anthropoi/mankind] became filled with all manner of unrighteousness {and unrightness} - to doing evil, and covetousness, and malice. They’re full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They’re gossips [psithyristḗs – properly, a whisperer, sneaky gossip, "back-stabber" backbiter, working to destroy another person's character] 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God's righteous decree that those practicing such are worthy [axios - from the base of ἄγω (agō), meaning to lead or to bring, worthy or deserving, implies a sense of balance or equivalence] of death, for they not only do them but give approval to [suneudokeó - to approve together, to consent {encourage?} agree with, be pleased with] those who practice them. {So deeply engrained. Whereas God is Life and “is perfect” so imperfect is entropy, a slow gehenna that “doesn’t quit” so “God is savior of all” 1Tim.4:10. Other option, creation as an ant farm?}

            🌙 Matthew 5:13-26

(Jesus continues his teaching while sitting on the hillside, called “the Sermon on the Mountain”.) 13 - “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its flavor, how shall it be restored? It’s no longer good for anything! Only to be thrown out and trampled under foot. {Previously about being peacemakers, etc.}

     14 You’re the light of the world. A city built on a hill can’t be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket {or under the table} but on a stand, and it gives light to everyone [pas - all] in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine [“let the light of you shine”] so others see your good works and will glorify your Father in the heavens.

     17 Don’t think I’ve come to abolish the Law. Or the Prophets. I’ve not come to do away, but to fulfill. 18 For truly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a dot of an i, or a crossing of a t will pass from the Law until all of it is accomplished.

     19 Anyone who does away with the least of them and teaches others to do so, they’ll be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever shall keep and teach them, will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 Truly I tell you, if your righteousness doesn’t abound - greater - than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. {Controversy over “Sabbath” is avoidable division. Romans 14, Col.3 allows each one to be persuaded in their - own - mind.. The “new and living way” remembers and rests in God everyday. But also, there is nothing wrong with observing the last day of the week as Sabbath and special. Nor anything wrong with not, or upon “the Lord’s day” first day of the new week. Surely?}

     21 You’ve heard it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that everyone who holds anger with his brother will be liable to judgment, whoever insults his brother will be liable to the courts, and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the gehenna of fire.” {Gehenna is a valley where the armageddon battle will be fought. I think all fiery judgments are flare ups of this crucible of imperfection, and its fruit and companion, entropy (corruption). So continuing to hold anger is liable to war, which is fiery judgment, individual or collective. Even the 3 mentions of lake of fire, are at huge, fiery events.}

     23 So if you’re offering a gift at the ‘altar’ {including a gift of thanksgiving, sacrifice of praise, or whole burnt offering of our very being} and you remember that your brother or sister/fellow person has something against you. 24 Go, and first be reconciled, and then offer your gift.

     25 Come to peace terms quickly with an adversary while you’re going with them to court, lest you be handed over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison. 26 Truly, I tell you, you won’t get out - untiL - you pay the last penny you owe.

1 - The apostles and brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2 So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party (Hebrew believers) criticized him, saying, 3 “You went to the uncircumcised and ate with them!” [Israel was strictly separated from others, for one thing, in order to birth Messiah, the “savior of the world” into a comparatively prepared nation.]

    4 But Peter began to explain to them what had happened, 5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance [ekstasis - a displacement of the mind, state of ecstasy] and I saw a vision. There was something like a great sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners. It came down to me 6 and looking at it closely, I saw animals and beasts of prey, reptiles and birds of the air. 7 And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat.’ 8 But I said, ‘By no means, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth!’

     9 But the voice answered a second time from above saying, ‘Don’t call common, what God has polished(?).’ [Katharos.] 10 And this happened three times. And then “all” [hápas - from háma - all together, and pás - each, every – thus each and every one as a comprehensive unit] was drawn up again into heaven.

     11 And look! At that very moment three men arrived at the house, who were sent to me from Caesarea. 12 And the Spirit told me to go with them. And to ask no questions and make no distinction. These six brothers as well, accompanied me, and we entered the man's house. 13 And he told us how he had seen the angel coming into his house and the angel said, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. 14 He will declare to you a message by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ [This was the “good news for all” beginning to earnestly go out to the nations {right on schedule} called gentiles, all who are not hebrew.] 15 And even as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) fell upon them. Just as it had upon us at the beginning [Acts 2]. 16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 17 So then, if God gave the same gift to them, as he gave to us - when we believed in the Lord Jesus - who was I that I should stand in God's way?” [An question for I.O? The Israel only doctrine.] 18 When the brothers heard these things they fell silent, and they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also, God has granted repentance that leads to Life.”

     19 Now in those days, those who were scattered because of the persecution that had risen after Stephen’s stoning, had traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the message to no one except to Jews/Hebrews. 20 But there were some, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who upon coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists (Greeks) also, preaching the Lord Jesus. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord. 22 The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, so they sent Barnabas to Antioch.

     23 When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was happy, and exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose. 24 For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. 25 So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul/Paul. 26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church (the believers) and taught a great many people. And it was in Antioch that the followers [mathétés - learners, disciples, pupils] were first called Christians.

     27 It was at about this time, that prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the civilized world (and the famine took place in the days of Claudius). 29 So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the believers living in Judea. 30 And they did so, sending it to the elders there by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

🌙 [It is Firstfruits, which is the third holy day of Spring holy week. Firstfruits always follows the regular weekly Sabbath of the week. Jesus died on Passover, was put in the grave as First Day of Unleavened Bread was beginning, and rose three days later as Firstfruits was beginning. The days - Leviticus 23.]

     13 - On the very same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they were talking with one another about all that had happened. 15 And while they were talking, Jesus himself drew near and walked with them. 16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. 17 And he said to them, “What is it that you’re talking about as you walk along?” And they stopped, and looking sad, 18 the one named Cleopas said, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who doesn’t know what has happened there?!”

     19 And Jesus said, “What things?” And they answered, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth! Who was a prophet before God and all the people, mighty in deed and word. 20 And the leaders, our chief priests, delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified! 21 But we had hoped that he was the one chosen to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it’s now the third day since, 22 and some women of our company amazed us by saying they were at the tomb early this morning 23 and found it empty! And that they saw a vision of angels who said he’s alive! 24 Then some others of us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said.”

     25 Then Jesus said, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart, do you not believe all which the prophets spoke? 26 Wasn’t it necessary the Christ should suffer these things? And then enter his glory?” [1Pet.1:11 - Moses and the prophets predicted the sufferings of Messiah and the glories that would result.] 27 And beginning with Moses, he explained the Scriptures written about him.

     28 When they were drawing near to the village, he seemed as though he would keep walking, 29 but they urged him, saying, “Stay with us! For it’s toward evening and the day is about over.” So he went with them.

     It began from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed, 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) and with his power. How he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews/Hebrews and in Jerusalem.

     Then he was put to death by being hung on a tree, 40 but God raised him up on the third day. And made him appear, 41 not to all the people, but to us who had been chosen by God to be witnesses. We ate and drank WITH him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he instructed us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and of the dead. 43 It was he all the prophets spoke about, and bore witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” {Declared innocent. God “is Perfect” and is Life, so only perfect endures.. On the other hand, an Ant Farm is no paradise/perfection.}

     44 While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit{/Presence of God} fell upon all who were listening. 45 And the men from among the Hebrew believers who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out upon Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, 47 “Can anyone disagree with baptizing these people now, in water? For they’ve received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” 48 And he instructed that they be baptized in the name of Jesus. And they asked him to stay with them for some days.

Haggai Chapter Two

 (Now) Weekly From the Prophets      

1 - In the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month (2nd quarter moon, seventh and last day of the Feast of Tabernacles) the word of the Lord came to Haggai the prophet: 2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to all the remnant of the people, and say, 3 ‘Who is left among you who saw this house as it was in its former glory? How do you see it now? 4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the Lord. Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. Build, for I am with you, declares the Lord of hosts, 5 according to the covenant I made with you when I led you out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not.

     6 For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. (A little while to Him?) 7 And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. 9 The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.’” (They were discouraged this new temple would be less magnificent than the first? But God is showing them a glimmer of the final temple.. the full destiny of a temple in Jerusalem?)

     10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, 11 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Ask the priests about the law: 12 ‘If someone carries holy meat in the fold of his garment and touches with his fold bread or stew or wine or oil or any kind of food, does it become holy?’” The priests answered and said, “No.” 13 Then Haggai said, “If someone who is unclean by contact with a dead body touches any of these, does it become unclean?” The priests answered and said, “It does become unclean.” 14 Then Haggai answered and said, “So is it with this people, and with this nation before me, declares the Lord, and so with every work of their hands. And what they offer there is unclean. 15 Now then, consider from this day onward. Before stone was placed upon stone in the temple of the Lord, 16 how did you fare? When one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but ten. When one came to the wine vat to draw fifty measures, there were but twenty. 17 Struck were all the products of your toil with blight and mildew and hail, yet you did not turn to me, declares the Lord.18 Consider from this day onward, from this twenty-fourth day of this ninth month. Since the day the foundation of the Lord's temple was laid, consider: 19 Is the seed yet in the barn? Indeed, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have yielded nothing. But from this day on I will bless you.”

      20 The word of the Lord came a second time to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, 21 “Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth, 22 and overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations, and overthrow the chariots and their riders. And the horses and their riders shall go down, every one by the sword of his brother. 23 On that day, declares the Lord of hosts, I will take you, O Zerubbabel [his name means “begotten in Babylon” he led the people home, so used as a type of Christ, like some kings are used as types of the adversary called Satan, and like David of Christ] my servant, the son of Shealtiel [this name means “I have asked of God” - ask, seek, knock] declares the Lord, and make you like a signet ring [chotham - a seal] for I have chosen you, declares the LORD of hosts.” (Jesus, our seal?)

(Matthew’s version/recollection) 15 - Now when it was evening, the disciples came to Jesus and said, “This is a lonely place, and the day is about over. Should we send the crowds away to go into the villages to buy food for their selves?” 16 Jesus said, “They don’t need to go, you can give them something to eat.” 17 But the disciples said, “We have only five loaves and two fish.” 18 And the Lord said, “Bring them to me.” 19 And he told the crowds to sit down on the grass, and then taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and gave thanks. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, which the disciples gave out to the people. 20 And they all ate and were satisfied, and took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. 21 And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.                   ~ Romans 11:1-6 ~

1 - I ask, then, has God rejected his people?  (Today I am realizing this in the wider sense. In the repeating pattern sense. As with Israel - smaller pond ripple - so to the world and all, larger/full pond ripple. Does God - outside of this life drama - reject any? As Paul asks. concerning Israel.) By no means! For I  myself (Paul) am an Israelite. A descendant of Abraham, and a member of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew [proginóskó - to know beforehand]. (Jn.1:3 - the logos, the Son - “All through him came into being and not one came into existence without him.” Though translators changed - all - to all things, and one to one thing.) Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel, 3 “Lord! They have killed your prophets! They have demolished your altars. I alone am left, and they seek my life!” 4 But what did God reply? “I have kept for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5 So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. [A piece of the cloth.] 6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works/earning/owed. Otherwise grace is no longer grace.

THE PROPHETS - Hosea - Part 1

1:2 When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.” So he married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.

     7 But I will show love to the people... I will free them from their enemies—not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers, but by my power as the Lord their God.” 10 .. the time will come when Israel’s people will be like the sands of the seashore—too many to count! Then, at the place where they were told, ‘You are not my people,’ it will be said, ‘You are children of the living God.’ 11 Then the people of Judah and Israel will unite together. They will choose one leader for themselves, and they will return from exile together. What a day that will be—the day of Jezreel—when God will again plant his people in their land.

1:1 The word of the LORD that came to Joel son of Pethuel. 6 A vast army of locusts has invaded.. 9 There’s  no grain or wine.. 10 The fields are ruined.. 20 streams have dried up..

     2:2 .. a day of darkness and gloom.. 13 Return to the Lord your God.. 19 The Lord will reply, “Look! I am sending you grain and new wine and olive oil.. 20 I will drive away these armies.. 22 ..The trees will again be filled with fruit.. 26 ..Never again will my people be disgraced. 28 I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. 29 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike. 30 And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. (Cause by having created a universe of cause and effect.) 31 The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn (reflect, surely?) blood red before that great and terrible day of the Lord arrives. 32 But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape, just as the Lord has said. These will be among the survivors whom the Lord has called. (Elsewhere strongly suggests “by lot”.. A lucky shake of the heavenly dice..)

     3:1 “At the time of those events,” says the Lord, “when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land. 3 They threw dice to decide which of my people (humanity) would be their slaves. They traded boys to obtain prostitutes and sold girls for enough wine to get drunk. 7 “But I will bring them back from all the places to which you sold them, and I will pay you back for everything you have done. 9 Say to the nations far and wide: “Get ready for war 10 Hammer your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Train even your weaklings to be warriors. 11 Come quickly, all you nations everywhere. Gather together in the valley.” (Gehenna, Armageddon, Rev.16:13-16, Mt.13:30.) 12 “Let the nations be called to arms. Let them march to the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I, the Lord, will sit to pronounce judgment on them all. 13 Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread the grapes, for the winepress is full. The storage vats are overflowing with the wickedness..”14 Thousands upon thousands are waiting in the valley of decision. There the day of the Lord will soon arrive. 15 The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will no longer shine. (Be seen.) 16 The Lord’s voice will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth will shake. BUT the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a strong fortress.. 17 “Then you will know that I, the Lord your God, live in Zion, my holy mountain. And Jerusalem will be holy forever, foreign armies will never conquer her again. 18 In that day the mountains will drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk. Water will fill the streambeds of Judah, and a fountain will burst forth from the Lord’s Temple, watering the arid valley.. 21 ..and I, the Lord, will make my home in Jerusalem with my people.” [All believers are called Israel.. Are “part of the commonwealth” Eph.2:12.. “and heirs to the promise”, Gal.3:29.. Jesus said - Jn.12:32 - “If I be lifted up from the earth - signifying what death he would suffer - I will draw all [pas - all] to me”.
