Romans 7 5-10

  02/05 ~ From New Testament Letters

  πŸ•Š️ (In the Order Believed Written)

        Paul’s Letter To The Romans

5 - For while we were living in the lower nature/carnality, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in us bearing fruit for death. 6 But now we are released from the law - having died to that which held us captive - so that we now serve in the new way of the Spirit. And not in the old way of the written code. {Outward compliance doesn’t work. Genuine inward change and newness - worked by God who iS life, is what works. Submission, fully yielded. After all, it’s He who has our highest blueprint!}

     7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? Of course not! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known what is sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet, if the law had not said, “Do not covet.” 8 But {tricky} sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness! {Like forbidden fruit, seduces, entices and excites.} Otherwise it lies dormant. 9 I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died. 10 The very commandment that promised life, proved to be death to me.

Romans 7 1-4

   02/04 ~ From New Testament Letters

  πŸ•Š️ (In the Order Believed Written)

         Paul’s Letter To The Romans

1 - Or do you not know - for I (Paul) am speaking to those who know the law - that the law is binding on a person only as long as they live? 2 For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage to him. 3 Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. And then if she marries another man she is not committing adultery. 4 In the same way, you too (who have been wed to the Law) have died to “the Law” through the body{/death} of Christ, so that you now belong not to the law (not to the O.T. outward conforming, society preserving, laws of Moses) but to another, to he who has been raised from the dead - in order - that we may bear fruit for God. {Healthy fruit, victorious/overcoming fruit, through our inward conforming union with God through, and with, the fully yielded, fully victorious Son.}

Romans 3 19-23

 Universalism in the New Testament

02/22 ~ From New Testament Letters

  πŸ•Š️ (In the Order Believed Written)

         Paul’s Letter To The Romans

19 - Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to all who are under the law, so every tongue can be stopped, and the entire world may be held accountable to God. 20 But by following the law no one is justified in his sight, since through the law comes the knowledge of sin [hamartia - missing the mark]. {Knowing we fall short.} 21 But now the righteousness of God has been revealed, as apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets point to it, 22 namely, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction. 23 All have sinned/transgressed and fall short of the glory of God, {We are pardoned by believing (Him, and thus) the pardon as HE has set forth and instructed.}

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 20:20-26

20 - The leaders watched Jesus. They sent spies, pretending to be sincere, so they might catch him in something he said, and could deliver him up to the authority and jurisdiction of the Roman governor. 21 So they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and show no partiality, but teach the true way of God. 22 Is it lawful for us to pay tribute/taxes to Caesar, or not?” [To deny Caesar was punishable by death.] 23 But he knew their trickery. 24 “Show me a denarius,” he said. “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said, “Caesar's.” 25 He said, “Then render to Caesar that which is Caesar's, and to God that which is God's.” 26 They were not able to catch him in his words. Marveling at his answer they became silent.

                ~ Galatians 5:9-15 ~

9 - A little leaven (in this case, untruth) leavens the whole lump. 10 I have confidence in the Lord that you will take no other view, and the one who is troubling you will bear the consequences, whoever it is. 11 But if I were still preaching circumcision/the Law, why am I being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed. 12 I wish those who unsettle you would go all the way and emasculate theirselves!

     13 For you were called to freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the selfish nature and transgression, but through love serve one another. 14 BECAUSE the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another!

GospeL Verses ~ Luke 8:40-48

40 - Now when Jesus returned to the other side of Lake Galilee, a crowd was waiting for him. 41 And there came also a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the town synagogue. And falling at his feet, he implored him to come to his house, 42 for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying.

     As Jesus went, the people pressed around him. 43 And there was a woman who had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her earnings on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone. 44 She came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately she was healed. 45 And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When no one knew, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in upon you!” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power went out from me.” 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and fell down before him and declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been at once healed. 48 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

                ~ 1 John 2:6-10 ~

6 - Whoever says they abide in him ought to walk the same way he walked. 7 Beloved, I am not writing to you any new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. 8 At the same time, it is a new commandment, for it is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away. And the true light is already shining. 9 Whoever says they are in the light and hates their brother or sister, is in darkness. 10 But whoever loves their fellow person abides in the light, and in them there is no cause for stumbling. (Because “love fulfills The Law” Ro.13:8,10.)

GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 8:1-17

1 - When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds were following after him, 2 and a man with leprosy came and knelt before him saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 3 Jesus reached out his hand, touched the man, and said, “I am willing, be clean!” And immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. 4 Then Jesus said, “See that you don’t tell anyone (broadcast this). But go, show yourself to the priest and as a testimony to them, offer the gift Moses commanded.” 5 And when he arrived at Capernaum, a Roman centurion came asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, and suffering terribly.” 7 Jesus answered, “Shall I come and heal him?” 8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I don’t deserve to have you come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes. And I tell that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, he marvelled and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith as this! 11 I tell you many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12 but the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Outside of the Light. An inner - initial - condition during ‘Day’ of Judgment/Discernment, for Jesus said he “will draw aLL to himself” Jn.12:32.) 13 Then he said to the centurion, “Go, and let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very moment.

     14 When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever. 15 So he touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to prepare a meal. 16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 This fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah - “He took up our infirmities and he bore our diseases.”

From New Testament Letters

(In the Order Believed Written)

       ~ Romans 3:24-31 ~

24 - We are justified freely by his grace [charis - grace, kindness, favor, favorable towards, like Old Testament, hebrew, KanΓ‘, both as His favor, grace, reaching/inclining to people because He is disposed to bless/be near them, always leaning toward them] through the redemption [the apolutrΓ³sis - released  by payment of a ransom, from apΓ³ - from, and lytróō - redeem what was previously lost, the buy back, redemption] that is in Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as the atonement by his blood (strong enough to convince and appease eveRy guilty conscience) and to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness [dikaiosunΓ© - righteousness, justice] because in his forbearance [paresis - a letting go, overlooking, suspension] he passed over the sin [hamartia - missing the mark] (condition) having occurred. 26 The present showing forth of his righteousness/justice, so he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. 27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is cancelled. Redeemed by what law? By a law of works/earning? No, but by the law of faith. 28 For we hold that one is justified by faith, apart from works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Hebrews/Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of the (other) nations also, 30 as it is God who justifies both by faith. 31 Do we then nullify the law by our faith? By no means! On the contrary. We uphold the law. (The ten summed up as Love. And because God’s Spirit/Presence enables us to do so!)

Preaching "The Law!"

Galatians 5:14,15 (Contemporary English Version)
14"All that the Law says can be summed up in the command to love others as much as you love yourself."
15"But if you keep attacking each other... you had better watch out or you will destroy yourselves."
