07-07 - From Heb-9 Lk-4

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

Hebrews 9:6-10  Luke 4:31-44

            ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 9:6-10

6 - For the (tabernacle, temple) preparations and rituals, the priests go regularly into the first {entry} section, 7 but into the second interior room, only the high priest goes. And he but once a year. And not without taking blood {strong enough to convince and appease every conscience} which he offers for himself and for the unintentional sins of the people. [Annually on Day of Atonement, DOA.] {A “shadow and type” of the real DOA, for the initiaLLy doa.}

     8 By this the Holy Spirit{/Presence of God} indicates that the way into the most holy place {his presence} is not yet opened as long as the first section is still standing, 9 which is symbolic for the present age.  {This present reality. This entropy! A slow gehenna. We could not endure His Full Presence. Purity consumes impurity. We are still entropic/imperfect - Heb.11:40, 1Cor.15:54.}

     According to the old arrangement, gifts and sacrifices are offered that cannot perfect [teleiōsai] {satisfy} the conscience of the worshiper {once and for all} 10 but it deals only with food and drink and various washings [baptismos] and regulations imposed until the time of restoring [diorthosis - reformation, correction, improvement] {of humanity, which began with Jesus’ first advent, and will be fully completed during his long second advent}.

            🌙 P.M. Luke 4:31-44

31 - Jesus went back to Capernaum of Galilee, and was teaching on the Sabbath. 32 The people were astonished at his teaching, for his words were skillful and spoken with authority. 33 There was a man in the synagogue who had {was contaminated with} the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, 34 “Ha! What have you to do with us?! You Jesus of Nazareth! Have you come to destroy us?! I know who you are! The Holy One of God!”

     35 Jesus said, “Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown the man down in their midst of them, he came out, and the man suffered no injury.

     36 Amazed, the people were saying, “What is this?! For with authority and power he even commands the unclean spirits, and they obey!” 37 And so reports and word of him went out to all places in the region.

     38 After that, he left the synagogue and went to Simon's house. Simon Peter’s mother-in-law was ill with a high fever, so they appealed to him on her behalf. 39 And he went to her and rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately she rose, and she prepared a meal for them.

    40 Later on, when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases, brought them to him. And he healed them by touching and laying his hands on every one of them. 41 And demons also came out of many, crying, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and wouldn’t allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Christ, the Messiah.

    42 On the next day, he went out to a lonely place. But the people looked for him and found him, and were urging him to stay with them, 43 but he said, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well. For this is why I was sent.” 44 And so in those days, he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea.

If you happened to read yesterday’s gospel reading and study, somehow I got it in a wrong order. It was way out of place. Not shocking, I’m 71 afterall, and I ‘knew’ it, but it was a busy day. ..Don’t you just love reading about Jesus’ days? You should read yesterday’s, I fixed it.

Hebrews 2:1-3  Jn.20:30-21:6 and ACTS 2:42-47 separately

            ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 2:1-3

1 - Therefore we must pay very close attention to what we’ve heard! Lest we drift away from it! 2 For since the message declared by angels proved to be firm and unchangeable {engraved in stone} and every transgression or disobedience received just return [misthapodosía - from misthós - reward, and apodídōmi - return, give back] 3 how shall - we - escape [ekpheugó - escape, flee out, avoid] if we neglect the so great [tēlikoútos - a strengthened form of tēlikos - so great, vast, very great, coming of age, reaching maximum size {and scope] salvation? That which was first announced by the Lord, and then was confirmed by us who heard it. (By the miracles, signs, and wonders, and by the changed hearts and lives.)

            🌙 P.M. Jn.20:30-21:6

30 - Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book. 31 But what is written is so you may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have Life in his name.

     John 21:1 - Now Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias (another name for Sea of Galilee). And in this way — 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing!” They said to him, “We’ll go too.” So they took the boat out, but all that night, they caught nothing.

     4 And just as day was breaking, Jesus stood at the shore. The disciples didn’t know it was Jesus. 5 He said to them, “Children, have you any fish?” They answered, “No, we caught nothing.” 6 He said, “Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you’ll find some.” So they did, and now they were not able to haul in the catch, there were so many [pléthos - multitude, great number, fullness].

06-01 - From 2Tim-3 Mt-27

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

 2 Timothy 3:8-17  Matthew 27:50-61

            ☀️ A.M. 2 Timothy 3:8-17

8 - Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these oppose the truth, corrupted in mind and not genuine regarding the faith. 9 But they’ll not get very far, for their folly will become plain to all, as was that of Jannes and Jambres who opposed Moses. {If we’re grounded in Truth, the Logos - reasoning, truth, both the personified aNd, the written. Preferably as “inspired” by God.}

     10 You, however, have followed the teaching I’ve taught, and have seen my conduct, aim in life, faith, patience, love, and steadfastness. 11 Also my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, persecutions I endured.

     Yet from them all, the Lord rescued me. 12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 13 While evil people and impostors will go from bad to worse, both being deceived and deceiving.

     14 But as for you, continue in what you’ve learned and have firmly believed, knowing those from whom you learned it. {Originally from eyewitnesses.} 15 And how from childhood you’ve been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out (inspired) by God and profitable for teaching, for convincing, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 so the person of God may be complete, and ready and able for every good work.

            🌙 P.M. Matthew 27:50-61

50 - When Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit, 51 right then, the (thick, cloth and metal weaved) curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, 52 and tombs also were opened. And, after his resurrection, many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and came out of the tombs and went into the holy city and appeared to many.

    54 When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over the crucifixion, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with wonder and said, “This truly was the Son of God!”

     55 There were also many women there, looking on from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, and helped him with their resources, 56 among whom were Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James (called lesser) and his brother Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee (John and James).

     57 And then when evening was soon beginning, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus. 58 He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. And Pilate ordered it to be given over to him.

     59 And so he took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud 60 and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone over the entrance of the tomb and went away.  {They wanted him in the tomb by the sun’s full setting, as sunset began the first Sabbath/no work day of Spring holy week, next Sabbath would be the regular weekly Sabbath, then last day of Unleavened Bread would be a Sabbath/no work day as well, with also, three preparation days for the Sabbaths.} 61 Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting nearby.

05-30 - From 2Tim-2 Mt-27

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

 2 Timothy 2:16-21  Matthew 27:39-49

            ☀️ A.M. 2 Timothy 2:16-21

16 - Avoid worldly [bebélos - of babylon, babble, vain, trodden] empty babbling, for it only leads into more and more ungodliness.

     17 And their words will spread like gangrene. Among such are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 who have veered away from the truth, speaking {and teaching} that the resurrection has already occurred. They are upsetting the faith of some.

    19 But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal, “The Lord knows those who are his” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the LORD depart from iniquity.”

     20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. {“All the world is a stage” ..Shakespeare.] 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses their self from what is dishonorable, they will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, and ready for every good work.

            🌙 P.M. Matthew 27:39-49

39 - And those who passed by (Jesus upon the cross) hurled insults and mockery at him, wagging their heads, 40 and saying, “You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days? Save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from there!”

     41 So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him, saying, 42 “He saved others. But he can’t save himself. He’s the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we’ll believe in him. 43 He trusts in God, let God deliver him, if he wants to.. For he said, ‘I’m the Son of God!’”

     44 The robbers who were crucified with him also insulted him in the same way.

     45 Then, from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. 46 And at about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

     47 And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, “This man is calling for Elijah.” 48 And one of them at once ran and taking a sponge, soaked it with sour wine, and put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink. 49 But the others said, “Wait, let’s see if Elijah will come and save him.”

03-30 - Eph-4 Jn-11

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

 • Ephesians 4:25-32  John 11:17-27

            ☀️ Ephesians 4:25-32

25 - Therefore, having put away falsehood [psuedos] {phoniness} let each one of you speak the truth with their fellow (person) for we are members one of another. 26 If there is anger, don’t sin, and don’t let the sun go down on your anger, 27 giving no opportunity to the devil. {Who plays all sides of all things.}

     28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let them labor, doing honest work with their own hands, so they may have something to share with anyone in need.

     29 Don’t speak poor, harmful or corrupting words, but only as is good for building up, as fits each occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, who has “sealed” you for the day of redemption.

     31 Let bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and slander be put far from you - along with all malice. {Hate, despising another or others.} 32 Be kind to one another. Tenderhearted and forgiving one another, as God, in Christ, has forgiven you.

            🌙 John 11:17-27

17 - When Jesus and the disciples arrived there, they found Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days. 18 Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away, 19 and many were there with Martha and Mary who had come to console them concerning their brother.

     20 Mary and Martha were seated in the house and when Martha heard Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, 21 and said to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.”

     23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise.” 24 Martha said, “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

     25 Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though they die [apothnéskó - die, perish, die off from] yet shall they live. 26 And everyone who lives and believes in me shall not die to [eis - to, towards, for, in order to, into] the aion (eon). Do you believe this?”

     27 She said, “Yes, Lord. I believe you are the Christ (the Messiah) the Son of God, who is coming into the world.” [Prophesied to come into the world.. twice.]

     {Prophecy is fulfilled in widening scopes, until reaching the “end-aim” - greek word “tel” as in telescope, translated ‘end’.}

03-28 - Eph-4 Lk-11

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

 • Ephesians 4:11-16  Luke 11:5-13

            ☀️ Ephesians 4:11-16

11 - And he gave some to be apostles, some prophets, or evangelists. And some shepherds and teachers. 12 This is to equip believers for the work of service [diakonia - service, ministry, office, relief, support] for the building up of the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, in the knowledge [epignósis] of the Son of God, to completion, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ!

     14 That we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by waves and different winds of doctrine. Or by human schemes of craftiness, 15 but speaking the truth in love, bringing increase in every way, into Christ, who is the head of us, the body of believers.

     16 From him the whole body, is joined and fitted together by every joint with which it’s equipped, so that when each part is working properly, the body grows, building itself up in love. (2Tim.3:16.)

            🌙 Luke 11:5-13

5 - (His disciples had said, “Lord teach us to pray..) So Jesus said, “Which of you who has a friend will go to them at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves! 6 Someone has arrived on a long journey, and I have nothing to set before them’. 7 Won’t the friend answer, ‘Don’t bother me! The door is shut, my children are in bed with us and I cannot get up and give you anything’.

     8 I tell you, though they will not get up and give you anything, because they’re your friend, if you insist, they will rise and give you whatever you need. 9 And so I tell you, ask. And it will be given to you. Seek. And you’ll find. Knock. And it’ll be opened to you!

     10 For whoever will ask, will receive. Whoever seeks will find. And to whoever knocks, it will be opened.

     11 What parent among you, if your child asks for a fish, will instead give them a serpent? 12 Or if they ask for an egg, will give them a scorpion? 13 If you then, who’re evil [ponéros - evil, bad, wicked, malicious (or) slothful; from pónos - pain, laborious trouble] {if you who are troublesome} know how to give good gifts to your children - how much more, will your heavenly Father give {his} Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” {The answer to all things.} {“The” is prevalent in scripture. Somewhat like La and Le of the French and Spanish? But it is not before Holy Spirit here but says “how much more the Father who is in heaven will give Spirit [pneuma - spirit, wind, breath] Holy..” holy is hagios, which includes sacred. Most high, Most sacred.}

02-21 - Ro-11 Mt-14

🗝️s New Testament & Bible prophecy study, verses paraphrased [ ] references { } thots

 • Romans 11:12-24  Matthew 14:22-36

           ☀️ Romans 11:12-24

12 - Now if Israel’s rejecting the message means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the nations, think how much greater the blessing, when they do accept the message! 13 Now I’m speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I’m an apostle to the Gentiles, the nations, I magnify my ministry {service} 14 to hopefully make my countrymen jealous, and so save some of them.

     15 But if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their return mean but life from the dead? {Christ’s return/1st Resurrection! Mt.23:39.} 16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is all the dough. And if the root of the tree is holy, so are the branches. {Mt.13:33, key word 3 with 1Cor.15:22-28, three harvests.}

     17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, 18 don’t be arrogant toward the natural branches.

     If you are, remember it’s not you who support the root, but it’s the root that supports you! 19 Or you might say, “Branches were broken off to make room for me.” 20 That’s actually true. But they were broken off because of their unbelief, and you stand fast through your faith. But don’t become proud, 21 for if God didn’t spare the natural branches, then neither will he spare you.

     22 Note then the kindness and severity of God. Severity toward those who’ve fallen off, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in that kindness. {Evidence would be kindness as a fruit?} Or otherwise you too will be cut off {estranged}.

     23 And even they, if they don’t continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God iS able to graft them in again. {Logically, root word logos, no one can be lost (estranged) forever.} 24 And if you, from a wild olive tree, was grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more, will the natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree!

            🌙 Matthew 14:22-36

(Matthew’s account.) 22 - Jesus had the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. 23 And after he sent the crowds home, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. And evening came, and he was there alone.

     24 It was the fourth watch of the night,  and the boat by now was a long way off from land. A wind had risen against them, and the boat was being beaten and tossed about by the waves.  25 Then Jesus came to them, walking on the water. 26 But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea toward them, they were terrified! And they cried out in fear, “It’s a ghost!” 27 But Jesus said, “Take heart! It is I! Don’t be afraid!”

    28 And Peter said, “Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 So Jesus said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and he walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But then he looked around at the wind, and at the waves, and he started to sink! And he cried out, “Lord, save me!”

     31 So Jesus reached out his hand and took hold of him, “Oh ye of little faith” he said, “why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, all was quiet, for the wind had stopped blowing. 33 Those in the boat were in awe, and said, “Truly! You are the Son of God.”

     34 And they came to land at Gennesaret. 35 And when the people of that place recognized him, they sent around to all that region and brought to him all who were sick 36 and implored that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched, were made well. {Is his long second advent, after all have risen “from the tombs” Jn.5:28-29, a full scope (and “perfect” mt.5:48) version of his first so brief one?}
