03-30 - Eph-4 Jn-11

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

 • Ephesians 4:25-32  John 11:17-27

            ☀️ Ephesians 4:25-32

25 - Therefore, having put away falsehood [psuedos] {phoniness} let each one of you speak the truth with their fellow (person) for we are members one of another. 26 If there is anger, don’t sin, and don’t let the sun go down on your anger, 27 giving no opportunity to the devil. {Who plays all sides of all things.}

28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let them labor, doing honest work with their own hands, so they may have something to share with anyone in need.

29 Don’t speak poor, harmful or corrupting words, but only as is good for building up, as fits each occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, who has “sealed” you for the day of redemption.

31 Let bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and slander be put far from you - along with all malice. {Hate, despising another or others.} 32 Be kind to one another. Tenderhearted and forgiving one another, as God, in Christ, has forgiven you.

            πŸŒ™ John 11:17-27

17 - When Jesus and the disciples arrived there, they found Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days. 18 Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away, 19 and many were there with Martha and Mary who had come to console them concerning their brother.

20 Mary and Martha were seated in the house and when Martha heard Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, 21 and said to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.”

23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise.” 24 Martha said, “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

25 Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though they die [apothnΓ©skΓ³ - die, perish, die off from] yet shall they live. 26 And everyone who lives and believes in me shall not die to [eis - to, towards, for, in order to, into] the aion (eon). Do you believe this?”

27 She said, “Yes, Lord. I believe you are the Christ (the Messiah) the Son of God, who is coming into the world.” [Prophesied to come into the world.. twice.]

     {Prophecy is fulfilled in widening scopes, until reaching the “end-aim” - greek word “tel” as in telescope, translated ‘end’.}

N.Testament & Prophecy Advanced CU Study, verses paraphrased  [ ] references { } thots

 • Ephesians 4:17-24  John 11:1-16 and Rev. 19:17-21

            ☀️ Ephesians 4:17-24

17 - Now this I (Paul) say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the world does, in vanity of mind, 18 being darkened in understanding, with hearts hard, and alienated from God because of not knowing any better. 19 And so they’ve become careless and uncaring, pursuing every kind of impurity [akatharsia - from an adjective, derived from A - not, and katharΓ³s, cleansed, purged, (so) free from wrong mixture, lacking mixture so pure; so A-katharos is - of "a wrong mixture, contaminated”.]

20 For that is not the way you learned Christ, 21 if indeed, you have heard him.  [Hrard - akouΓ³ - to hear, listen, understand]. 22 Instead put off your old self, which belongs to a former way of life and is corrupted through the deceitfulness of human passions.

23 Instead be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which is created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness/purity of truth [alΓ©theia - truth, straightforwardness] {genuineness}.

            πŸŒ™ John 11:1-16

1 - Lazarus of Bethany, the brother of Mary and her sister Martha, was ill. 2 It was Mary who later anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill. 3 So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, your friend is ill!” 4 But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness doesn’t lead to death, but is for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 But, when he heard Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer where he was.

7 Then after two days, he said to the disciples, “Let’s go back to Judea.” 8 The disciples said, “Rabbi, the leaders {those in seats of power, they were keen to keep} were just now seeking to stone you! And are you going there again?” 9 Jesus said, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? If anyone walks in the day, they won’t stumble, because there’s light to see by. 10 But if they walk in the dark of night, they stumble, because they have no light, and the light isn’t in them.”

11 Then he said, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m going to awaken him.” 12 The disciples said, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”

13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought he meant resting in sleep. 14 Then he told them plainly, “Lazarus has died. 15 And for your sake I’m glad I wasn’t there, so you may believe. Let’s go to him.” 16 So Thomas, called the Twin, said to the rest, “Let’s go too, that we may die with him.”

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 10:29-42

29 - But the lawyer/scribe, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” (As in “love thy neighbor”/fellow person.) 30 (Surprise, lol,) Jesus answered with a parable, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was fallen upon by a band of thieves. They robbed him, even of his clothing, and beat him and left him for dead. 31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite (government public servant) when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a (looked down upon by ‘polite’ society) Samaritan, as he journeyed, came by, and when he saw him, he was concerned. 34 So he went to him and he bound up his wounds, cleansing them with oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and further took care of him. 35 Then the next day he gave the innkeeper two denarii, saying, ‘Take care of him, and if you spend more, I will repay you when I come back.’

36 Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell among robbers?” 37 The scribe said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said, “Go and do likewise.”

38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister Mary, who was sitting at the Lord's feet listening to his teaching. 40 But Martha was busy with much serving. And she went to Jesus and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (This is important! Martha learned it also. Yet if we ignore chores they’ll end up as a huge, overwhelming pile waiting for us, lol. I try to do each one when the Spirit moves me. He organizes us, gives us time saving tips! But “the Kingdom first”.πŸ’•)

7 - For every kind of beast and of bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed, and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no human can tame the human tongue! (And today the typing finger.) It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.10 From the same mouth (and typing finger) comes blessing and cursing. My brethren/brothers and sisters, this ought not to be! 11 Does a spring pour forth both fresh, living water, and salt water? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond (snarkiness) yield fresh (life giving) waters.

GospeL Verses ~ John 11:38-54

38 - Jesus, again deeply moved, came to the tomb, which was a cave with a stone laid against the entrance. 39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of Lazarus, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe you will see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. Jesus gazed upward and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I know that you always hear me, but I say this for those here, standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 When he had said this, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And the man who had died came out, his hands and feet still bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said, “Unbind him, and let him go.” (Basically what God has said to the adversary concerning “all” of us, but which word - all - in scripture is usually translated into “all things”.)

45 Many of the Jews therefore, who had followed Mary out of the house and saw what he did, believed in him. 46 But some went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 And so the chief priests (leaders) and the Pharisees called a council and said, “What are we to do? For this man performs many signs. 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.” (See? Not a religious issue, politics. Religion gets used for politics. Inaccurate religion.) 49 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said, “You know nothing at all! 50 Don’t you understand! It is better for you that one man should die for the people, rather than the whole nation perish!” 51 He didn’t say this only of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation. 52 And not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad (upon the face of the earth). 53 And from that day on they made plans to put him to death. 54 Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among them, but went to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and he stayed there with his disciples.

                  ~ Ephesians 5:9-16 ~

9 - The fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true. 10 Try to discern what is pleasing. 11 Take no part in unfruitful works of darkness. Instead show them up as being what they are. 12 It is shameful even to speak of the things that are done in secret. 13 But whenever the light is shone upon something, then it is seen. 14 Therefore scripture says, “Awake, Oh the one sleeping! Rise up out from the dead. And Christ will shine upon you.” (ThAt is the natural state. But the only way to avoid this all important contrast would be for creation to be a forever ant farm.) 15 Be wise how you walk [peripatéō - from perΓ - comprehensively around which intensifies, patéō - walk – walk around, i.e. in a complete circuit, going full circle, how I conduct my life] (live my days) not as unwise but as wise. 16 And making the best use of the time, because the days are evil [ponΓ©ros - toilsome, bad]. (With still so much Good! Imagine when all the notGood is finally vanquished after the Lord’s long second advent! - Rev.21:1-5, 1Cor.15:24-28, 2Pet.3:12-13)

GospeL Verses ~ John 11:28-37

28 - After this, Martha went inside to call her sister Mary, saying quietly, “The Teacher is here and is calling for you.” 29 And when she heard it, Mary rose quickly and went to him. 30 Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha had met him. 31 And the ones who were with her in the house, consoling her, saw Mary rise quickly and go out and they followed her, thinking she was going to the tomb in order to weep there.

32 When Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet, saying, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 When Jesus seeing her weeping, and the ones with her weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit, 34 and said, “Where have they laid him?” They answered, “Lord, come and see.” 35 And Jesus wept. 36 So they said, “See how he loved him!” 37 But some said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind also have kept this man from dying?”

                  ~ Ephesians 5:1-8 ~

1 - So be imitators of God! As beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering (like incense) and sacrifice to God. (When we get to the floor of outselves in yielding, is when to pull up some floorboards?) 3 But immorality and all scandalous behavior or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among believers [followers]. 4 Let there be no crude and foolish talk and joking, which are out of place. But instead let there be thanksgiving! 5 For you may be sure of this, that everyone being immoral or impure, or who is covetous, an idolater and greedy, does not have the inheritance that is in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Don’t ket anyone mislead you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath (cause and effect) of God comes upon us. 7 Therefore don’t partner with them. 8 At one time you were in darkness, but now you are in the Lord and in the light. Be as children of light.
