☀️ Ephesians 4:17-24
17 - Now this I (Paul) say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the world does, in vanity of mind, 18 being darkened in understanding, with hearts hard, and alienated from God because of not knowing any better. 19 And so they’ve become careless and uncaring, pursuing every kind of impurity [akatharsia - from an adjective, derived from A - not, and katharós, cleansed, purged, (so) free from wrong mixture, lacking mixture so pure; so A-katharos is - of "a wrong mixture, contaminated”.]
20 For that is not the way you learned Christ, 21 if indeed, you have heard him. [Hrard - akouó - to hear, listen, understand]. 22 Instead put off your old self, which belongs to a former way of life and is corrupted through the deceitfulness of human passions.
23 Instead be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which is created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness/purity of truth [alétheia - truth, straightforwardness] {genuineness}.
🌙 John 11:1-16
1 - Lazarus of Bethany, the brother of Mary and her sister Martha, was ill. 2 It was Mary who later anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill. 3 So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, your friend is ill!” 4 But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness doesn’t lead to death, but is for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”
5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 But, when he heard Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer where he was.
7 Then after two days, he said to the disciples, “Let’s go back to Judea.” 8 The disciples said, “Rabbi, the leaders {those in seats of power, they were keen to keep} were just now seeking to stone you! And are you going there again?” 9 Jesus said, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? If anyone walks in the day, they won’t stumble, because there’s light to see by. 10 But if they walk in the dark of night, they stumble, because they have no light, and the light isn’t in them.”
11 Then he said, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m going to awaken him.” 12 The disciples said, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”
13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought he meant resting in sleep. 14 Then he told them plainly, “Lazarus has died. 15 And for your sake I’m glad I wasn’t there, so you may believe. Let’s go to him.” 16 So Thomas, called the Twin, said to the rest, “Let’s go too, that we may die with him.”
