☀️ Romans 16:13-27
(Paul continues signing off with greetings and final instructions.) 13 - Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord! Also his mother, who’s been a mother to me as well. 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers who are with them. 15 Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the believers who are with them. 16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send you their greetings.
17 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions, and create obstacles with teachings contrary to the teaching you {first believers} were taught. Avoid them, 18 for such persons don’t serve the Lord, but their own selves. And by smooth talk [chréstologia - from chrestos and lego - fair speech, good words] and flattery [eulogia - blessing, praise, benefit, fine speaking. elegant language, fine discourse, polished language, persuasive words] they mislead [exapataó - deceive, beguile, lead astray] the hearts of the naive.

19 Your obedience {to “the way”} is known to all, so I rejoice over you! But I want you to be wise as to what is good, and innocent and free of what is evil. 20 The God of peace will soon crush the adversary [satan, satanas - adversary, accuser] {and accelerator} under your feet! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you! 21 Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you, as does Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen. 22 I Tertius, who did the writing of this letter, greet you in the Lord. 23 Gaius, host to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus, greet you.
25 Now to he who is able to strengthen you according to the gospel I proclaim, which is the teaching of Jesus Christ, and according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages. 26 But now it has been revealed. And through the prophetic writings it’s been made known to all nations. This is according to the command of the eternal and immortal God, to bring about the obedience of faith. {To humanity.} 27 To the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! (The disciples had asked Jesus, “Who is greatest in the kingdom?”) 12 - “What do you think?” Jesus asked them, “If a shepherd has a hundred sheep, and one goes astray. Will the shepherd not leave the ninety-nine on the hillside and go in search of the one that has gone astray?13 And when he find’s it, will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that were not lost. {Will rejoice over all, for “all have gone astray” Isaiah 53:6.}
14 It’s not the will of my Father in heaven that any should perish, even (the) [mikros - small, little, least significant].”
15 “If your brother or sister - sins against you - go and tell them their fault, between you and they alone. If they hear you, you’ve gained your brother or sister!
16 But if they don’t listen, take one or two others with you, so everything can be established by the witness of two or three. 17 And if they still refuse to listen, tell it to the group. And if they refuse to hear even then, let them be to you as an outsider. 18 Truly, I tell you, whatever you bind on earth, will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven. {What you decide - in His wisdom and “Way” - will be honored/upheld by God.} 19 Again I tell you - if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there with you.”
