☀️ Colossians 4:1-18
1 - (And finally) masters (misters) treat your bondservants (working off a loan of money or land) justly and fairly, knowing you have a master in heaven.
2 Continue faithfully in prayer, being watchful, with thanksgiving. 3 And pray for us! That God may open a door for us for the word/message, to make known the mystery of Christ, for which I’m in prison, 4 and that I may make THE mystery clear, which clearly, is how I ought to speak!
5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of time. 6 Let your speech be always gracious. And seasoned with salt, so you may know how to answer questions you may be asked.
7 Tychicus will make known to you concerning me. He’s a beloved brother and faithful in the Lord. 8 I’ve sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are and that he may encourage your hearts. 9 And with him is Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you of everything that has taken place here.
10 Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, also Mark (a helper as scribe for Paul, Peter, likely Luke, and compiled a gospel account, but early on quit the first missionary journey of Paul) the cousin of Barnabas, concerning whom you have received instructions. If he comes to you, welcome him. {Paul and Barnabas quarreled when it came time for the 2nd “missionary journey”.. so much so they split in their travels.. but all had made amends later as we can see.} And Jesus who is called Justus. These are the only men of the circumcision {aka, is a kinsman, fellow Hebrew, of the nation God called out and created, one reason, to separate Himself, in our understanding, from the many gods of the nations, those many gods still war against Israel, the Hebrews, slang Jews. Armageddon will be waged by the nations against Israel. Two gatherings in ‘last days’. Mt.13:30 parable “gather first, the tares in bundles”/armies to a bonfire for garden weeds, “then, gather the wheat into my barn”. They “die still in their sins”/hamartia - missing the mark, so will rise that way (initially) into GWT Judgment/discernment/review/closure for all ‘Day’. The rich man and Lazarus parable, and the outside of the vision narrative of Rev.22 portray the inneR, initiaL condition of some.} They’re among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and have been a comfort to me.
12 Epaphras also, one of you, and a servant of Christ Jesus, greets you. He always struggles on your behalf in his prayers, that you may stand mature, steadfast, and fully assured in all the will of God. 13 For I bear him witness that he has worked hard for you and for those in Laodicea and in Hierapolis.
14 Luke the beloved (Greek/gentile) physician greets you, as does Demas. 15 Give my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house. 16 And when this letter has been read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans. And read also the letter from Laodicea. {It does say “from Laodicea” - ek or ex - from, out of, by, away from. I used to assume it was to the Laodiceans.}
17 And tell Archippus, “Be sure to fulfill the ministry that you have received in the Lord.”
18 I, Paul, write these last words with my own hand. Remember my chains. The Lord’s grace be with you.

The leaders (of the Pharisee party) answered, “Are we not right in saying you are a Samaritan and have a demon?” {And so now they were currently locked into the coming fiery (earthly) judgment of 70 CE, elite, divisive, labeling, accusatory, known to stir up sentiment, even mob and mob mentality - why Jesus told them they were being children of the devil “the accuser, slanderer” hater, ever sowing division, the siren call to armageddon’s large and small. “Samaritan” was very much an insult, like the terrible way of thinking, of calling someone a ‘half-breed’, if you’ve watched old western movies.}
49 Jesus answered, “I don’t have a demon, but I honor my Father. And you dishonor me. 50 Yet I don’t seek my own glory. There is One who seeks it, and he’s the judge. 51 Truly, I tell you, if anyone keeps my message, they will not see death into [eis - to, towards, for, into] the age (aion).”
52 The leaders said, “Now we know you have a demon! Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, he will not see death.’ 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died! Who do you make yourself out to be?”
54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It’s my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ 55 But you have not known him. I know him. If I were to say that I don’t know him, I would be lying like you, but I do know him and I keep his word/message. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.”
57 So the leaders said, “You’re not yet fifty years old, and you have seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said, “Truly, I tell you, I was [eimi - to be, exist, happen, be present] {was} before Abraham.” [Col 1:15; Rev 1:5 - “firstborn” (of creation) prลtรณtokos - from -prแนtos, "first, pre-eminent" and tรญktล - bring forth - properly, first in time (Mt 1:25; Lk 2:7) hence, pre-eminent.] {The OnLy straight out from God - one.} 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus concealed himself and left the temple.
