☀️ Romans 16:1-12
1 - I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant [diakonos - servant, minister, deacon] of the church at Cenchreae. 2 Please welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever way she needs, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well. {She is delivering the letter?}
3 Be sure to greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus. {Interesting, Paul now mentions Priscilla first.} 4 They have risked their very necks for my life, to whom not only am I thankful, but all the churches of the Gentiles are thankful as well.
5 Greet also the church that meets in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in Asia. 6 Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you. 7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen and fellow prisoners. [2Cor.11:23 “I have frequently been in prison”..] They are well known to the apostles, and they were in Christ before me. 8 Greet Ampliatus, greatly loved in the Lord. 9 Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and my beloved Stachys. 10 Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ. Greet those who are of the family of Aristobulus. 11 Greet my kinsman Herodion. Greet those in the Lord of the family of Narcissus. 12 Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, those workers in the Lord. Greet the beloved Persis, who has worked faithfully in the Lord.
🌙 Matthew 18:1-11
1 - The disciples came to Jesus, asking, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And calling to him a child, Jesus set him in their midst, 3 and said, “Truly, I tell you, unless you turn [stréphō – properly, to turn, transition, figuratively to convert by changing (switching) direction, i.e. go the other way, do an about-face] and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
4 Therefor, whoever humbles theirself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoever receives one in my name receives me. 6 But whoever causes one to fall, it would be better for them to have a great millstone fastened around their neck and thrown into the depths of the sea.
7 Woe to the world for temptations to sin! {To dissolution.} For it’s bound to be that temptations come, but woe to the one, by whom, the temptation comes! 8 So if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It’s better for you to go through [eiserchomai - arise, come into, enter into, go through] life crippled or lame, than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the aiónios [age-long, of a duration or pertaining to an age] fire.” {This slow gehenna fade, entropy.. life as we presently know it.. pluck a leaf from the tree and watch the slow burn. Same imperfection/entropy can, and does flare up into fiery judgments like 70 CE ..& Armageddon, Is.24:20/Rev.10:4 ..because imperfect is an abyss of potential with all its fiery trials, atrocities, and torments. And inner, outside of the Light darkness, gnashing of teeth..}
9 “And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away! It’s better for you to go through life with one eye, than with two eyes to be thrown [balló - thrown, cast, put, placed] into the fiery gehenna” {fiery trials, wrath, cause and effect, rot in jail.}
10 “And see that you do not abuse [kataphroneó - despise, scorn, disregard, esteem lightly] one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always looking upon the face of my Father.” {Like how we are seated in heavenly places.. and in Rev. Mt. Zion, whereas Mt. of Olives (Zech.14:4) is the literal.}
