GospeL Verses ~ John 11:38-54

38 - Jesus, again deeply moved, came to the tomb, which was a cave with a stone laid against the entrance. 39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of Lazarus, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe you will see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. Jesus gazed upward and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I know that you always hear me, but I say this for those here, standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 When he had said this, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And the man who had died came out, his hands and feet still bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said, “Unbind him, and let him go.” (Basically what God has said to the adversary concerning “all” of us, but which word - all - in scripture is usually translated into “all things”.)

45 Many of the Jews therefore, who had followed Mary out of the house and saw what he did, believed in him. 46 But some went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 And so the chief priests (leaders) and the Pharisees called a council and said, “What are we to do? For this man performs many signs. 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.” (See? Not a religious issue, politics. Religion gets used for politics. Inaccurate religion.) 49 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said, “You know nothing at all! 50 Don’t you understand! It is better for you that one man should die for the people, rather than the whole nation perish!” 51 He didn’t say this only of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation. 52 And not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad (upon the face of the earth). 53 And from that day on they made plans to put him to death. 54 Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among them, but went to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and he stayed there with his disciples.

                  ~ Ephesians 5:9-16 ~

9 - The fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true. 10 Try to discern what is pleasing. 11 Take no part in unfruitful works of darkness. Instead show them up as being what they are. 12 It is shameful even to speak of the things that are done in secret. 13 But whenever the light is shone upon something, then it is seen. 14 Therefore scripture says, “Awake, Oh the one sleeping! Rise up out from the dead. And Christ will shine upon you.” (ThAt is the natural state. But the only way to avoid this all important contrast would be for creation to be a forever ant farm.) 15 Be wise how you walk [peripatéō - from perí - comprehensively around which intensifies, patéō - walk – walk around, i.e. in a complete circuit, going full circle, how I conduct my life] (live my days) not as unwise but as wise. 16 And making the best use of the time, because the days are evil [ponéros - toilsome, bad]. (With still so much Good! Imagine when all the notGood is finally vanquished after the Lord’s long second advent! - Rev.21:1-5, 1Cor.15:24-28, 2Pet.3:12-13)
