GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 23:13-22

13 - “Woe to you, scribes, Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven before others. You don’t enter yourselves nor do you allow those who would enter to go in! 15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you traverse sea and land to make a single convert, and when they become one, you make them twice as much a child/inheritor of gehenna (judgment) as yourselves.

16 Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it’s nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, why then they are bound by their oath.’ 17 Foolish and blind guides! Which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred? 18 And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it’s as nothing, but if anyone swears by the gift that is on the altar, why then they are bound by their oath.’ 19 You are blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by he who dwells in it. 22 And whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by he who sits upon it.”

                  ~ 1 Timothy 1:16-2:4 ~

16 - But I (Paul) received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the greatest sinner, Christ might display, as an example, his perfect patience to those who are about to believe in him unto the unfading life.17 To the King of the ages, the immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

     18 This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare. 19 Holding faith and a good conscience. Which by rejecting, some have made a shipwreck of their faith, 20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan (expelled from the group) that they may learn not to blaspheme (lie, twist the message, 2Tim.2:17-18). 2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all, 2 and for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. [Isaiah 14:27 - “For the LORD Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and WHO can turn it back?” Isaiah 45:23 - “I have sworn by my own name” - there is none higher to swear an oath by - “I speak the truth, and I will never go back on my word: That every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will (joyfully) declare allegiance to me.” Who iS life, and the source of everything Good.]
