07-23 - From Heb-11 Lk-7

8Th ‘Day’ Study, verses R paraphrased [ref] {thots}

Hebrews 11:14-16  Luke 7:1-10

            ☀️ A.M. Hebrews 11:14-16

14 - For people who talk like this  (being strangers and pilgrims, not identified with the pre and post Christendom “world”) make it clear they’re seeking a homeland.

     15 If they had been thinking of the land from which they had come out of, they would have looked for the opportunity to go back. {“Remember Lot’s wife.”} 16 But as it is, they want a better country! That is, a heavenly {blessed, perfect} one.

     Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. {An enduring kingdom. Enduring because Perfect, because God iS Life and “is Perfect” - this is the first, foremost, and sole prime reality and law which is like unbreakable iron.. the iron rod/measuring rod by which Christ will rule the nations. God is a “consuming fire” of purity and light. Purity consumes impurity and Light consumes darkness. Life consumes death, a good trade.}

            ๐ŸŒ™ P.M. Luke 7:1-10

1 - After this, Jesus entered Capernaum. 2 And a Roman centurion had a servant, highly valued by him, who was sick. He was at the very point of death. 3 And when the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Hebrews (Jews) asking him to come and heal his servant/worker.

     4 And when they came to Jesus, they asked him, and said, “He’s worthy for this, 5 for he loves our nation, and he even built our synagogue.”

     6 Jesus went with them, and when they were on the way, the centurion sent friends, saying, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself! For I’m not worthy to have you come under my roof. 7 Therefore I didn’t presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed. 8 For I too, am a man under authority, with soldiers under me, and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes. And to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes. To my worker, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

     9 When Jesus heard this, he marveled, and turning to the crowd following him, said, “I tell you, not even in all Israel have I found such faith!” {And He received the sincere motive and offered no criticism.} 10 And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well.
