Hebrews 10:1-7 Luke 5:12-16
☀️ A.M. Hebrews 10:1-7
1 - For since the law (system) is but a shadow and example of the true reality of the good {system} that was to come, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near.
2 Otherwise, they would have ceased being offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins. [Of hamartia - missing the mark.] 3 But in the old sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year! 4 For it’s impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sin [missing the mark, imperfection, being flawed/imperfect, which is opposite of God, who is Life and “is perfect” Mt.5:48. Imperfect cannot make itself perfect. Entropy and corruption only go one way. BUT! An ant farm is no paradise, so this ‘quick’ one & done unavoidable yet all important contrast.]
5 Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings you have NOT desired, but a body you have prepared for me. 6 In burnt offerings and sin offerings you take no pleasure. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I’ve come to do your will, O God, as it’s written of me in the scroll of the book.’” {I’m convinced what needs to be appeased is the guilty human conscience and tricky psyche. And it has to be strong enough for even the worst of the worst actors of humanity and history. Our Father God “is love” (1Jn.4:8) not the angry ‘god’ (“of this world”).
π P.M. Luke 5:12-16
12 - And while he was in one of the towns, there came a man full of leprosy. And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” 13 And Jesus reached out his hand and touching him, said, “I will, be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him.
14 And he told him not to tell anyone, but to go and show himself to the priest, and make an offering, as Moses commanded for his cleansing, as a proof to them.
15 But now more than ever the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But he would often withdraw to the lonely places and pray. {And the people would find him, and he healed all that came.}
