29 - And as they were leaving Jericho, a great crowd was following. 30 And they came upon two blind men sitting by the side of the road. And when they heard Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord! Have mercy on us! Son of David!” 31 The crowd scolded them, and told them to stop yelling. But they cried out all the more, “Lord! Have mercy on us, Son of David!” 32 And stopping, Jesus called them and said, “What is it you want me to do for you?” 33 They said, “Lord, let our eyes be opened.” 34 And Jesus pitying their blindness, touched their eyes, and immediately they received their sight, and walked along with the crowd following him.

   Paul’s Letter To The Philippians

19 - I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this imprisonment will turn out for good. 20 As it is my eager expectation that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage, now as always, Christ will be honored, whether by my life or by my death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in this mortality, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I should choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire to be done with this life and {imo, next a believer knows is to be “resurrected” and} be with Christ, for that is far better. 24 But to remain is more beneficial for you. 25 Convinced of this, I know I will remain and continue with you all, for the progress and joy in the faith, 26 and that we may happily glory in Christ, when I come to you again.

1 - Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through, 2 and there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector and was rich. (A Judean tax collector for hated Rome.) 3 And he was seeking to see Jesus, but on account of the crowd he couldn’t because he was small in stature. 4 So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree. 5 And when Jesus got near, he looked up and said, “Zacchaeus! Hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he hurried and came down and received him happily. 7 And when the people saw it, they grumbled, saying, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” (A common phrase was “sinners and tax collectors”.)

     8 And Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I will give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will restore it fourfold.” 9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house! For he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost [apollumi - (the) destroyed, perished, lost].”

   Paul’s Letter To The Philippians

9 - It’s my prayer your love will abound more and more, with full knowledge and all discernment and understanding. 10 This is so you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruit of character that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. {Who designed it thus, iS designing it thus.}

     12 I want you to know, my friends, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. 13 So that now it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard, and to all the rest, that my imprisonment is for Christ. 14 And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

     15 Some indeed preach Christ from envy [phthonos - envy, a grudge, spite] and for rivalry. Yet others from good will! 16 The latter do it out of love, knowing that I’m put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former proclaim Christ out of self interest and ambition, and not sincerely but thinking to curse me in my imprisonment. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.

Yes, and I will rejoice!

     2 Grace to you! And peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

     3 I thank my God in all my remembering of you! 4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all, I make my prayer with joy. 5 This is because of our partnership in the gospel from the first day we met until now. 6 And I am sure of this, that he who has begun a good work in you {and in us!} will bring it to completion, at the day of Jesus Christ.

     7 It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because you’re in my heart, for you’re all partakers with me of this grace, both in my imprisonment and in this work of the defense and confirming of the gospel. 8 For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

ACTS 27 25-44

       BooK of Acts of the First Believers

                      (Paraphrased)

(On the rough seas!) 25 - “So men! Keep up your courage! For I (Paul) have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me! Not one of us will be lost! 26 Nevertheless, we will run aground on some island.” (Paul was under guard and arrest, called “in chains” on his way to Rome. Luke, a Greek doctor who had joined up with Paul and friends during Paul’s second gospel journey, then traveled with them off and on, and who wrote this “book of acts”, was on this journey.)

     27 On the fourteenth night we were still being driven across the Adriatic Sea, when about midnight the sailors sensed we were approaching land. 28 So they took soundings and found the water was a hundred and twenty feet deep. A short time later they took soundings again and found it was ninety feet deep. 29 Fearing we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern, and prayed for daylight. 30 In an attempt to escape from the ship, the sailors let the lifeboat down into the sea, pretending they were going to lower some anchors from the bow. 31 But Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay with the ship, we cannot be saved.” 32 So the soldiers cut the ropes that held the lifeboat and let it drift away.

     33 Just before dawn Paul urged them all to eat. “For the last fourteen days,” he said, “you’ve been in constant stress and haven’t eaten anything. 34 So I urge you to take some food. You need it to survive. And not one of you will lose a single hair from his head.” 35 After he said this, he took some bread and gave thanks to God in front of them all. Then he broke it and began to eat. 36 They were all encouraged and ate some food theirselves. 37 Altogether there were 276 of us on board. 38 When they had eaten as much as they wanted, they lightened the ship by throwing the grain into the sea.

     39 When daylight came, they didn’t recognize the land, but they saw a bay with a sandy beach, so they decided to run the ship aground there if they could. 40 Cutting loose the anchors, they left them in the sea and at the same time untied the ropes that held the rudders. Then they hoisted the foresail to the wind and made for the beach. 41 But the ship struck a sandbar, the bow was stuck fast and wouldn’t move, and the stern was broken to pieces by the pounding of the surf.

     42 The soldiers planned to kill the prisoners to prevent any of them from swimming away and escaping. 43 But the centurion wanted to spare Paul’s life and kept them from carrying it out. He ordered those who could swim to jump overboard and swim to land. 44 The rest would get there on planks or on other pieces of the ship. And in this way everyone reached the shore safely. {A living parable.}

Will he forever delay over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them quickly, nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith upon earth?”

28 - In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own selves. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For what man hates his own body? Instead he nurtures and cherishes it, as does Christ the church. 30 This is because we are members of his body. {So man and wife is one body, and who mistreats his own body?} 31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall be one.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. 33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

     6:1 - Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”. This is the first commandment with a promise, 3 “that it may go well with you and you may live long in the land.”

 BooK of Revelation

                a paraphrased study

1 - “And to the angel {angelo - messenger} of the church in Sardis write: ‘These are the words of he who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars - I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you’re dead {are lacking life}. 2 Wake up [ginomai grΓ©goreΓ³ - be watching, vigilant, alert] and strengthen what remains, but is about to die, for I’ve not found your works complete in the sight of God. 3 Remember what you received and what you heard. Keep it, and repent [metanoeo - think better and turn]. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you won’t know at what hour I come {unavoidably} against you. {In other words? Get it together!} 4 Yet you have still a few in Sardis who have not soiled their garments {contaminated/diluted their walk? Because the doctrine/belief is soiled?} and they will walk with me in white, for they’re worthy. {Having “washed their robes/garments in the blood/Life of the Lamb”. Ultimately all will be clear as crystal. Jn.12:32} 5 For the one who overcomes [nikaΓ³ - from nΓkΔ“ - victory; to conquer, overcome, prevail, carry off the victory, come off victorious] will be clothed in white garments, and I will never remove their name from the book of life. I will confess their name before my Father and before his angels. 6 Whoever who has an ear, let them hear. (What the Spirit says to the churches/believers).’

1 - He also taught the disciples, saying, “There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that he was mismanaging his affairs and resources. 2 So he called him in and said, ‘What is this I hear about you? Turn in the management accounts, for I can no longer trust you as manager.’

     3 And the {unjust} manager said to himself, ‘What shall I do? My master is taking the management away from me. I’m not strong enough to dig, and I’m ashamed to beg. 4 I know what I’ll do, so when I’m removed from management, people will welcome me into their homes.’ 5 So, he called his master's debtors one by one, and said to the first, ‘How much do you owe?’ 6 He answered him, ‘I owe your master’s estate a hundred measures of oil.’ The shrewd {tricky with other’s money meant for upkeep} said to him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly and write fifty.’ {Let’s falsify the books.} 7 Then he called another and said, ‘And how much do you owe the master?’ To which he said, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ So the {bad and dishonest} manager said, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’

     8 The {mortal, worldly} master applauded [epaineΓ³ - praised, commended, applauded (though the greek doesn’t have tense?)] the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing, than the sons of light. {Definitely more tricky. Wear sheep’s clothing.. talks a good talk.} 9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal [aionion - of an age, adjective to aion - age , duration of time] {pertaining to the age} tents. {?..Just before “can no longer buy and sell without” is instituted, max cards if one has to, for forty five days worth of supplies? The last “ten days” prophesied to escalate into “will be killed without” - six is the number of man, made of carbon which has six protons, six neutrons and six electrons. Apocalypse is totally man done. Hello? The root word of logic, is logos. Father Creator loves a good riddle? Dn.12:11-12 w/ Lk.19:41,44 aNd 1Cor.3:16. And Rev.2:10 — a counting backwards timetable?}

     10 “One who is faithful in little is also faithful in much. And, one who is dishonest in a little, is also dishonest in much. {Lie to me once oh wolf behind the lamb portrayal.} 11 If then you {they} have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? {And powers, abilities..} 12 And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's {oh managers} who will grant you that which is your own? 13 And no manager can serve two masters. He will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and - despise - the other. {If possible even (some of) the elect/genuine will be misled.} No one can serve {revere} both God and money {selF interest}.” {And cannot be serving the good, if wasting and pilfering. Sure signs of self interest. Wolf.}

     14 The Pharisees {leaders of the nation, of which there were the two parties, the Pharisee and the Saducee.. total politics, not religion/spirituality/communion w/ God. And their scribes/lawyers. In today’s language, both gone extreme due to self interest and ambitions} were lovers of money. They heard all this, and ridiculed him. 15 But he said to them, “You are those who justify and make much of yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is praised among {mortal, worldly ambitious(?)} man is an affront in the sight of God.

   Paul’s Letter To The Ephesians

17 -  Therefore don’t be senseless, but understand what the will of the Lord is.18 Don’t get drunk with wine, in which is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 talking with one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Be happy! Sing songs and make melody to the Lord! {Musicians!} 20 Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name [onoma - authority, character, cause, name] of our Lord Jesus Christ. 21 Submit yourselves to one another in reverence of him. 22 Wives to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife like Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in all things to their husbands.

     25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself for the church/people, 26 that he might sanctify the church/people, having cleansed them by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that the church/people might be holy, and without blemish.

MATTHEW 20 17-28

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

 πŸƒπŸ•Š️reading & study πŸ•Š️πŸƒ

     04/02 - GospeL Verses

17 - As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and said, 18 “Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the leaders, the chief priests and scribes, and they’ll condemn him to death. 19 They’ll deliver him over to the Gentiles/nations (via Rome) to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.”

     20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee [John and James] came up to him with her sons, and kneeling before him she asked him a favor. 21 He asked her, “What do you ask?” She said to him, “Tell me these two sons of mine will sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left, in your kingdom.” 22 Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I’m to drink?” They said to him, “We’re able.” 23 He said, “You will drink my cup, but to sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it’s for those for whom it’s been prepared by my Father.”

     24 And when the other ten disciples heard of it, they were indignant at the other two. 25 But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26 It’s not so among you. For whoever would be great among you must be as a servant. 27 And whoever would be first among you, must be as a slave. 28 Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many [polus - multitude].” [1Tim.2:6 - who gave himself as a ransom for all (pas) which has been revealed at the proper time. 1Cor.15:22-24,28 w/ Mt.13:33, key word three, barley, wheat, grape. 27,28 is five times “pas”.      (In the Order Believed Written)

     Paul’s Letter To The Ephesians

9 - The fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true. 10 Try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead bring them to light. 12 For it’s shameful even to speak of things that are done in secret. 13 Everything exposed by light, becomes visible, 14 and everything becoming visible, becomes known. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, arise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon you.” 15 Pay attention then to how you walk, not as unwise but wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are quickly past.

ACTS 27 1-24

   BooK of Acts of the First Believers

                      Shipwreck! (Paraphrased)

1 - And so, when it was decided we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion of the Augustus Cohort named Julius. 2 And embarking upon a ship which was about to sail to the ports along the coast of Asia, we put to sea, accompanied by Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica. 3 The next day we put in at Sidon. And Julius treated Paul kindly and let him go and visit friends and receive hospitality.

     4 Putting out to sea from there, we sailed under the lee of Cyprus (sailed the channel between Cyprus and the mainland) because the winds were against us. 5 And when we had sailed across the open sea along the coast of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra in Lycia. 6 And there the centurion Julius found a ship of Alexandria sailing for Italy and he put us on board.

     7 We sailed slowly for a number of days and arrived with some difficulty off Cnidus, and as the wind didn’t allow us to go further, we sailed under the lee of Crete off Salmone. 8 Coasting along it with difficulty, we came to a place called Fair Havens, near which was the city of Lasea.

     9 Much time had passed, and the voyage was now dangerous being late in the season. Even the (Day of Atonement) fast day was already over. And Paul advised them, 10 saying, “Sirs, I perceive that the voyage will be with injury and much loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.” 11 But the centurion paid more attention to the pilot and to the owner of the ship, than to what Paul was saying.12 And because the harbor wasn’t suitable to spend the winter in, the majority decided to put out to sea, hoping to reach Phoenix, a harbor of Crete, which faced both southwest and northwest, and spend the winter there.

     13 And when the south wind blew gently, supposing it a favorable wind, they weighed anchor and sailed along Crete, staying close to shore. 14 But soon a tempestuous wind, called a northeaster, swept down from the land. 15 And when the ship was caught and couldn’t resist the wind, we gave way and were driven along. 16 Then running under the lee of a small island called Cauda, we managed with difficulty to secure the ship's lifeboat. 17 After hoisting it up, they used ropes (wrapped round a few times, called frapping) to undergird the ship. Then, fearing they would run aground on the Syrtis [two always moving quicksands - the terror of all Mediterranean sailors] they lowered the main mast, and thus were driven along. 18 Since we were violently storm-tossed, they began the next day to toss over the cargo. 19 And on the third day we threw the ship's furniture and luggages overboard with our own hands. 20 When neither sun nor stars were seen for many days, and no small tempestuous wind lay upon us, all hope of our being saved was at last abandoned. 21 And since all had been without food for a long while, Paul stood up and said, “Men, you should have listened to me and not have set sail from Crete and incurred this injury and loss. 22 Yet now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you! But only of the ship. 23 For this very night there stood before me an angel of the God to whom I belong, and of whom I worship, 24 and he said to me, ‘Don’t fear, Paul, for you will stand before Caesar. And God has granted you the lives of all those who sail with you.’”

JOHN 11 38-54

  πŸƒπŸ•Š️ 04/01 - GospeL Verses πŸ•Š️πŸƒ

                  (paraphrased)

38 - Then Jesus, deeply moved, came to the tomb, which was a cave. A stone lay against it, 39 so Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of Lazarus, the dead man, said, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believe you will see the glory of God?”

     41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus looking upward said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I know you always hear me. But I say this on account of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 And then he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And Lazarus, who had died, came out. His hands and feet were bound with linen strips, and his face was wrapped in a head cloth. Jesus said, “Unbind him, let him go free.”

     45 Many of the Judeans therefore, who had come with Mary and had seen this, believed in him. 46 But some went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 So the leaders, the chief priests and the Pharisees, gathered as a council and said, “What are we to do? For this man performs many signs. 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our seats and our nation.”

     49 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said, “You know nothing! 50 Nor do you understand that it’s better that one man die than the whole nation perish!” 51 He didn’t even say this of his own accord! But being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation. 52 And not for the nation [ethnos - people, nation] only, but also to gather into one, the children of God who are scattered abroad. 53 And from that day on they made plans to have him put to death.

     54 So Jesus no longer walked openly among them. And he went to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and there he stayed for a while with the disciples.
