GospeL Verses ~ Matthew 28:16-20

Matthew was an original disciple, he was sitting collecting taxes - for hated Rome! - when Jesus said, “Come and follow me”. And Matthew got up and did so. This is the end of his gospel account. 16 - Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 And when they saw him they were in awe, yet some still doubted. 18 And Jesus came closer and said, “All authority in heaven and upon earth has been given to me. 19 Therefor go and disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to keep [téreó - keep, guard, observe, watch over, keep intact] all that I have instructed [entellomai] you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

8 - I (Paul) plan to stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, 9 for a wide door has opened for effective work and there are many adversaries to it. 10 When Timothy comes, see that he is accepted and at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as am I. 11 And help him on his way, and in peace, that he may return to me, I’m expecting him with the brothers.

     12 Concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the brothers, but it was not at all his will to come right now. He will come when he’s able to. 13 In conclusion, be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men (aka, be brave) and be strong. 14 And let all you do, be done in love.
