07/03 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

18 - For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and inability {atrophy}. 19 For the law makes nothing perfect {it’s purpose is to define imperfect?}

     But a better hope [elpis - expectation] is introduced, through which we draw near to God. 20 And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without an oath. 21 But he with an oath by the saying to him and has sworn the  LORD and will not repent, “You are a priest for ever! After the order of Melchizedec.” 22 What this means is Jesus is the guarantor [egguos - surety, guarantee, pledge] of a better covenant. 23 The former priests were many, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, 24 but he holds his {spiritual} office permanently, because he continues forever.
