07/18 ~ From New Testament Letters
(In the Order Believed Written)
35 - Therefore don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For we have need of endurance, so that when we have done the will [theléma - will, desire, purpose] of God we may receive what is promised. 37 For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay. 38 But the righteous lives by faith, and if they shrink back, my soul cannot be happy in them.”
39 But we’re not of those who shrink back and are ruined, but of those who have faith and are gaining their souls. [Gaining - peripoíēsis - possession, acquisition, preservation; from perí - all around, and poiéō - make, properly, make one's own, completely obtain, i.e. as a full possession (to real advantage) – literally - for abundant, all-around gain.]
