   08/03 - GospeL Verses

35 - Later that day, when evening had come, he said to the twelve, “Let’s go across to the other side.” 36 So leaving the crowd, they set off, and other boats were with them. 37 But soon a great windstorm arose. The waves were crashing against the boat, tossing it to and fro. And the waters were cresting over the side, so the boat was taking on water. 38 But Jesus was asleep on the cushion that’s in the stern.

So they woke him and said, “Teacher! Don’t you care that we’re perishing!?” 39 Then he got up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still.” And the wind stopped. And there was a great calm.

40 He said to them, “Why were you afraid? Have you no faith?”

41 And they were filled with great wonder and said to one another, “Who is this? That even the wind and waves obey him?”
