08/05 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

1 John, 2 John and 3 John are letters written by the disciple/apostle John, who also wrote the “Gospel According to John” and the Book of Revelation. He’s the only one of the twelve who lived to an old age, which is when he wrote these letters and received the revelation vision.

1 - That which was from the beginning, which we (apostles) have heard, which we saw with our eyes, and looked upon and have touched with our hands. [After resurrection Jesus said “touch me and see that I have flesh and bones”.] The things concerning the word of life. 2 For the life was made visible [phaneróō - from phαΉ“s - light – properly, illumine, make manifest(visible)]. And we saw it, and testify of it, and proclaim it to you, which was with the Father and was made known to us. 3 That which we have seen and heard we declare to you! So that you too may have fellowship with God along with us. For indeed our fellowship (friendship/visiting) is with the Father and with his Son Jesus. 4 And I am writing these things so the joy we all have may be complete and full.
