16 - So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t gratify the lower nature. 17 For the desires of carnality are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against carnality, for these are opposed to each other. So we cannot do what the lower nature may want. 18 But if we are “led by” the Spirit (of God), we don’t need to be “under” the law. 19 Now the works of the lower nature (the imperfect “human nature with its frailties” and self first pursuits) are evident: sexual immorality [porneía, from pornos] impurity [akatharsía (a-catharsis) - from A - not and katharós - lacks contamination, unmixed, pure; so impure {entropic, corrupt happens}] debauchery [aselgeia - licentiousness, debauchery, inordinate sensuality, lewdness] 20 idolatry [eidólolatria - from eidólon and latreia - image worship (ancient and modern; image/replica/likeness/statue/hologram/psuedo)] sorcery [pharmakeia - sorcery, enchantment] enmity [echthra - hostility, hatred] {so} strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions. 21 Envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I’ve said before, those who do such things are not able to inherit/enter the kingdom of God. {WhiLe we are/were in that state of - being led - by such. Hostility seems to be on the rise? And slithering/has slithered into the collective body of believers, which causes a spirit of dislike, judging, labeling, superiority, even accusing, all such being worldly and carnal. And leads to failure, sufferings and destruction. 🙂have a good day.}

1 - But,  I (Paul) couldn’t address you as spiritual people, but as people still carnal, for you were infants in Christ. (They were baby believers.) 2 I fed you with milk, for you weren’t ready for solid food. And even now you’re not yet ready. 3 For while there’s jealousy, arguments and strife among you, are you not still carnal? Behaving only in the human way? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another says, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? (Not sacred/hagios translated holy.)

     5 What then is Apollos? (A good teacher and preacher “knowledgeable in the scripture”.) What is Paul? We are only servants of the Lord, through whom you believed God’s message. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God is the one who gave and gives the growth.

12 - Again Jesus taught the people, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” 13 But the Pharisees said, “You are bearing witness of yourself! Your testimony is not true.” 14 Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness of myself, my testimony is true. For I know where it is I came from and where it is I am going, but you don’t know where I come from, nor where I’m going. 15 You judge according to the flesh (self centered reasoning). I judge no one. 16 But if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it’s not I alone who judge, but I and the Father who sent me. 17 In your Law” (their law, because he - life in him and he in us - is the “new and living way” that fulfills the law’s requirements. But in the society preserving laws given to Moses) “it is written that the testimony of two people is true. 18 I am the one who bears witness concerning myself, and the Father who sent me also bears witness of me.” 19 They then said to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus replied, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” 20 These words he spoke in the treasury [gaza-phulaké - treasure guarding/watch] as he taught in the temple. But no one arrested him, for his hour had not yet come.

                  ~ Colossians 2:18-23 ~

18 - Don’t let anyone declare you disqualified, insisting on asceticism and the lauding of angels (or by insisting their particular convictions be observed by you) or going on in detail about visions, puffed up and prideful by their carnal (self seeking, self centered) mind, 19 members not holding fast to the head/Christ, which is from whom the whole believing body, is nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, growing together in the growth that is from God. 20 If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to various regulations such as 21 “do not handle, do not taste, do not touch” 22 referring to things that all perish as they are used (foods aNd days) according to human rules and teachings. (Paul is writing to non Hebrew believers, they have never been required to observe the Sabbath, nor to follow certain food guidelines - they may indeed be superior, but not required in order to be a believer in Christ and Christ Crucified and thus in good standing with God and receiving the growth in newness that is from him. Don’t hinder another’s path.) 23 All these things have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in curbing and overcoming the temptations of life. (If creation and thinking included no ability to stray.. how much “thinking” would there be?)

All Manner Of Doctrine

It's great to be able to go on the world wide web and discuss all manner of doctrine with many others of the household of God.

But when He comes, will He find us teaching "believe in Jesus" or will He find us beating one another? Will He find faith on the Earth?

The most insidious thread having weaved its way into the fray, is the thought that if one disagrees with another's doctrine, they are not part of the household of the Lord.

When Jesus prayed - let them be one as the Father and He are one. And the scripture says the fruit of the flesh (imperfect carnal character) includes such things as sects, party sentiment, factions.

We all should always remember to rightly divide our zeal for Truth and the spirit of competition, which of course, competition, is of that lower flawed and carnal character. Truth needs no one's defense. Our attitude should be say it and shake the dust..

Whenever we spy an insidious thread slithering its way amongst us we should immediately pierce it in its tracks with the sharp double edged sWord of Truth. (Pierce it with love.)

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love" - the Apostle John, 1 Jn 4:7,8.

Such words will likely not convince one who does not love, but perhaps such words may prevent one who does love from falling into the same snare.
