☀️ 10 - For we {context is believers} must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ. [Judgment seat - bema - in ancient Greek and Roman culture, a béma was a platform where officials would sit to hear legal cases, deliver public addresses or proclamations, they were often located in public squares or forums, and were a common feature in the cities of the Roman Empire; literally, means a tribunal-chair for rewards and penalties to be given, or in Greek games, the rewards, metals or honors - info from a biblehub dot com commentary.]
This is that each may receive what is due, for what they’ve done in the body {of Christ} whether - good or evil {not good}. 11 Therefore, knowing the Lord, we persuade others to God. And what we are, is known to God! And I hope it is known to you.
12 We’re not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you cause to boast about us. So you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance, instead of what is in the heart.
13 For if we’re beside ourselves, it’s for God. And if we’re in our right mind, it’s for you. 14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we’ve realized, and have concluded, that one has died for all, as all die.
15 And he died for all, so those living may no longer live for themselves, but for the one who for their sake died, and was raised. 16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to outward appearance. Even though we once regarded Christ that way, we do so no longer.
17 This is because if anyone is in Christ, they’re a new creation. The old has passed away, and behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God - who through Christ, reconciled us to himself - and gave to us {who believe, 2Tim.3:16} the work of reconciliation. 19 For, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself - not recognizing or taking into account faults, trespasses, or crimes, and has entrusted to us the message of reconciliation.
20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us as we implore you on behalf of Christ, to be reconciled to God. {And thus united to him.} 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we become the righteousness {and rightness} oF God. [To become - gínomai – properly, to emerge, become, transitioning from one point (realm, condition) to another.]
