☀️ A.M. Titus 2:1-8
1 - As for you, Titus, teach what accords with sound [hugiainó - reasonable, sound, pure, healthy, uncorrupted] teaching. 2 Older men should be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, and steadfast [hugiainó] in the faith, with love and stability.
3 Older women likewise should be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to wine. They should teach what’s good, 4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled, virtuous, keeping a home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands - that the word of God not be insulted. 6 And urge the younger men to be self-controlled and sober minded [sóphroneó - to be of sound mind, self-controlled, sober-minded].
7 Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 and sound words that can’t be condemned, so those who contradict may be convinced and turn, and have nothing evil to say about us.
🌙 P.M. Matthew 25:14-23
(Jesus continues answering the disciple’s eschatological questions.) 14 - “That day, is like a man who is going on a journey. He calls his managers and entrusts to them his property. 15 To one he gives five talents/coins, to another two coins, and to another one. He gives to each one according to their ability [dynamis - ability, strength, abundance, power, might, ability]. Then he went away on his journey.
16 The one who had received the five coins, traded with them, and made five more. 17 So also the one who had the two coins and made two more. 18 But the one who had received but one coin went and dug a hole in the ground and hid the master's money.
19 Now after a long while, the master of those servants returned and settled accounts. 20 The one who had received the five coins came forward, bringing five more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five coins, here, I’ve made you five more.’ 21 The master said, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You’ve been faithful over a little, now I’ll set you over much. Enter {Mt.25:1-13} into the joy of your Lord!’ 22 And also the one who had the two coins came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two coins, and here, I have made two more.’ 23 And the master said, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You’ve been faithful over a little, now I set you over much. Enter, into the joy of your Lord!’”
