11-13 - JOHN 14 12-21

N.T. IN A YEAR READING & STUDY [ ]REFERENCES { }THOTS, VERSES R PARAPHRASED

πŸŒ™ [Jesus continues, on the eve of his crucifixion.] 12 - “Truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do. And greater [megas - large, great, in the - widest - sense] works than these they will do, because I’m going to the Father.

     13 Whatever you ask in my name [onoma - name, authority, cause] I’ll do it, this is so the Father will be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name [authority, cause] I’ll do it.

     15 If you love me, you’ll keep my instructions. 16 And I’ll ask the Father, and he’ll give you another helper, this one to be with you to the age, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it doesn’t see him or know him. You know him. For he is with you, and, will be in you. {The Father’s Presence.}

     18 I’m not leaving you as orphans, but I’ll come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will no longer see me, but you’ll see me. And because I live, you’ll live also. 20 In that day you’ll know I’m in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my instructions and keeps them, it is they who love me. And they who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and make myself known to them.”

     {Best way to know Jesus and the Father - is to follow Jesus’ instructions? “Love God.” One rule, because when genuine, the second is also!}

1John 5 1-5

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

08/25 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

1 - Everyone believing Jesus is the Christ, has been “born of God”. And everyone loving God, loves those born of him as well. 2 We know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his instructions [entolΓ© - injunction, order, command, ordinance, law]. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commands (instructions). And his commands are not difficult. 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And the victory that overcomes the world—is our faith. 5 Who is it who overcomes “the world” but the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God?

[Jesus continues, on the eve of his crucifixion.] 12 - “Truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do. You know him. For he dwells with you, and, will be in you.

18 I will not leave you as orphans, but will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will no longer see me, but you’ll see me. And because I live, you will live also. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my instructions and keeps them, it is they who love me (Mt.25:10). And they who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and make myself  known to them.”
