2 Peter 1 9-21

 a paraphrased ‘enter the story’

 ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ•Š️  reading & study  ๐Ÿ•Š️๐Ÿƒ

05/21 ~ From New Testament Letters

   (In the Order Believed Written)

9 - For whoever lacks these qualities is nearsighted and blind, having forgotten that they were cleansed from the former things which dragged them down, captured them and made them miserable.

     10 Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more determined and diligent to confirm (lock in) your calling and election. For if you reflect these qualities you’ll not fall away. 11 And there’ll be an open entry provided for you. An entrance into the enduring kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. {At his (full) return.}

     12 Therefore I plan to always remind you of all this, even though you know the truth and are established in it. 13 I think it right, to stir you to a lasting remembrance of these things, as long as I am in this body. [When we rise to meet him, we rise in a new body] {likely with the same but higher/perfect dna?} 14 Since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus has made clear to me. 15 So I make every effort, that after I am absent, you may be able at any time to recall these things.

     16 For it wasn‘t cleverly devised myths we were following, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the kingly glory saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” 18 We ourselves heard this very voice coming from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. 19 And besides all that, we have the prophetic word fully confirmed (acted out before our eyes) to which we all do well to pay attention, as to a lamp giving its light in a dark place, until the day dawns! And the morning star rises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is for someone's own interpretation. {Forget about “it’s all about me.”} 21 For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but men spoke from God, as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit{/Presence of God}.

        Matthew 26:30-46

30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 31 On the way, Jesus told them, “Tonight all of you will desert me. For the Scriptures say, ‘God will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ 32 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”

     33 Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.” (The gospels are eye witness accounts. Eye witness accounts aLways differ in details.) 34 “Truly I tell you, Peter” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” 35 Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not disown you!” And all the disciples said the same. 36 Then entering the olive grove called Gethsemane, he said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.”

     37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee (John and James) along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup of suffering be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” 40 Then he returned to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour? 41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” 43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. 44 So he went to pray a third time, saying the same things. 45 Then he came to the disciples and said, “Go ahead and sleep. Have your rest. But look—the time has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. See, my betrayer is at hand.”

          Peter’s Second Letter

             ~ 2 Peter 2:1-7 ~

1 - But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive opinions [hairesis - self-chosen opinion, divisive choices] as truth. Even denying the Lord who bought [agorรกzล - acquire by purchasing, stresses transfer of] them, bringing swift ruin upon theirselves. 2 Many will follow after their insolence and unlawfulness, through whom the way of Truth will be marginalized. 3 In their self interest [pleonexia - covetousness, avarice, aggression, desire for advantage] these false teachers will make merchandise of you by telling made-up stories, but the judgment of old (cause and effect) is not idle, and their ruin does not slumber. 4 For if the angels who transgressed [hamartia - (now) missing the mark] God spared not. But in chains oF gloom and deepest darkness [tartarus - originally, deepest darkness] gave them over to now awaiting judgment. (They are in deep darkness, locked into judgment, having become imperfect/hamartian, they cannot now reverse their course back to perfection.)

     5 And if God did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood upon the ungodly (when “every thought” thus act, “was only evil”) but protected (thus preserving humanity) seven plus Noah, a preacher of righteousness (whereby Jesus “went via the Spirit and preached” warning and urging the people, 1Pet.3:19 “while the ark was being prepared”). 6 And (consider) Gomorrah and cities having reduced to ashes of ruin [katastrophรฉ] as an example of what comes/is set upon [melloton - in general of what is sure to happen to] the seditious, 7 but rescued Lot who was daily distressed by the lawless conduct. [Fiery judgment is not an afterlife hell or purgatory, but is earthly event and prophecy. (Dah?)]
