Luke 1:57-66
57 When it was time for Elizabethโs baby to be born, she gave birth to a son. 58 Her neighbors and relatives heard how kind the Lord had been to her, and they too were glad. 59 When the baby was eight days old, they all came for the circumcision ceremony, and wanted to name him Zechariah, after his father. (On the โ8th dayโ - after the 8th day, the carnal character of mankind is circumcised and peeled away. 8th day image in comments.) 60 But Elizabeth said, โNo, his name is John.โ 61 But they said, โThere is no one among your relatives who has that name!โ 62 So they motioned to Zechariah to find out what he wanted to name him. 63 He motioned for a writing tablet, and to everyoneโs surprise he wrote, โHis name is John.โ 64 And immediately Zechariah could speak again, and he began praising God.
65 Awe fell upon the whole neighborhood, and throughout the hill country of Judea the people were talking about all these things. 66 Everyone who heard of it thought about it and asked, "What will this child come to be?" For it was plain the LORDโs hand was upon him.

~ Hebrews 4:8-11 ~
8 Now if Joshua (who succeeded Moses) had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come. 9 So there is a special sabbath rest, waiting for the people of God. 10 For whoever enters Godโs rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. [We cannot โearnโ Life, itโs a gift and when GOD chooses, we receive it.] 11 So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey the way, as the people of Israel did, we will fail. (Root of the matter, from verses yesterday, they didnโt follow the instructions, why? Because they didnโt believe. And if the people didnโt believe, why would they do the follow through? Of entering His Rest, of receiving the gift, which thereโs verses which seem to imply those โchosenโ to believe now, during this brief lifetime, are chosen โby lotโ. All humanity, like a flowing river is flowing to the steep cliff of oblivion. I donโt think this to be depressing! Itโs because imperfect is the opposite of what life is! God is Life! How else, or what else, could possibly be true?! And, God โis perfectโ. So unavoidably that makes imperfect? What? The opposite of Life. You see why God had two options? Total ant farm or total herd immunity? How to have genuinely able to think and reason beings, aNd, keep paradise/perfection intact..? โฆI could go on about the attributes of โperfectโ. But Iโm aLways too long winded.

So I may be starting the prophets today.. To read Jonah, Amos, Hosea, Joel over the summer, and hopefully summarizing - some of the prophets are pretty long.
