          Matthew 1:18-25

18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about - His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. 19 Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, โ€œJoseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 Then after the child is born, name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." [Joseph was to act as father and protector.]

22 All of this occurred to fulfill the Lordโ€™s message through his prophet. 23 โ€œBehold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son (Rev.12:1, chapterโ€™s an insert/total history, Mt.23:39) and they will call him Immanuel, which means โ€˜God is with us.โ€™โ€ [Jesus/Iesous (the greek) and Old Testament Joshua/Yโ€™shua (the hebrew) means โ€œsalvationโ€ (deliverance).] 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. (He โ€œbelievedโ€.) 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

           ~ Hebrews 4:4-7 ~

4 For the LORD has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: โ€œAnd God rested on the seventh day from all his works.โ€ 5 And in the other passage he said, โ€œThey shall not enter my rest.โ€ 6 Showing that Godโ€™s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed. (They didnโ€™t follow through, because they didnโ€™t actually โ€œbelieveโ€.) 7 Again, a certain day he appoints, and calls it โ€œtodayโ€, through David saying, after so long a time, just as it has been said today, "Today, if you should hear His voice, do not harden your heart."
